The next moring, when Stephanie came downstairs she found Katie, Katrina, and Katelyn lying on the floor. She also found Kevin on the couch and Howie in the chair. She walked down the hallway to the kitchen to find Brian sitting in a chair at the table.
"What's the matter?" she asked him. "Nothin much. I just didn't sleep well last night." he said, "Do you think Katelyn would go to that dance club with me if I asked her?" "Sure, why not?"
At 11:00, the phone rang. It was Nick. Stephanie asked him if they could get together for lunch today because they really needed to talk.
"Sure." he said, "Pick you up in about an hour." "Yeah." she said.
Then she hung up the phone. The gang told her that they would be back later. They just wanted to go home and get some clothes.
"Ok." she said, "Also bring your bathing suits."
They asked her if she wanted to go to the dance club tonight.
"I don't know yet. I'll tell you when I get home." she said.
All of a sudden, the doorbell rang. Everybody followed her downstairs.
"Where are we going today?" Brian asked. "Out to lunch." she said. "Yeah, sure, ok!"
She handed him a house key to her house just in case she wasn't back when they got there. Then she leaned over and gave Brian a kiss on the cheek. When Stephanie and Nick pulled out of the driveway, Stephanie asked him what he was doing tonight.
"Nothing really." he said, "Why?" "Because the guys want me to go to the club again tonight and I was wondering if you wanted to go with me?" "Yeah. Why not?"
They decided to go to the mall and get food there. They walked hand-in-hand around the mall. Then they sat down for lunch.
"Are we just friends or more than friends?" Stephanie asked. "I don't know." he said, "Why don't we think about it?" "Ok."
They ate lunch and Nick brought her home. Stephanie told Nick that she would see him tonight at the club.
He said, "Alright." and drove away.
