Nick got out of Brian's car and walked over to his.
"Hey, Nick." Stephanie said.
Nick looked up. Stephanie was sitting on the hood of the red corvette that picked her up.
"Hey. Wassup?" he said. "Nothin. What are you doing here?" "Picking up my car. What about you?" "I'm waiting for my friends. We have some kind of thing that we have to go to. I don't know." "Oh." "Well, what are you doing tonight?" "Nothing. Why?" "My mom is getting home late so why don't you come over?" "Ok. What time?" "Around 8. Bring your friends." "Ok. See ya then." "Ok."
Then Stephanie's friends came back out of the school carrying either their football uniforms or cheerleading uniforms. Stephanie already had hers.
"See ya later, Nick." Stephanie said. "Bye."
Stephanie got in the car along with her friends and she turned backwards in the seat. She took the hat (fisherman's hat) off of her friend, Mark's head and put it on. The guy driving pulled out of the parking spot and started speeding down the road again with Stephanie still facing backwards. She waved at Nick and he waved back. Nick got in his car and drove away with Brian following.
~~~~~~~That night around 8~~~~~~~
Nick, Brian, and AJ walked next door to Stephanie's house. They got to the door and rang the doorbell. Stephanie came to the door.
"Hey people." she said. "Hi. This is Brian and this is AJ." Nick said. "AJ, Brian this is Stephanie."
Brian and AJ looked at each other and smiled a sly smile and then three guys came up behind Stephanie.
"Nick, AJ, Brian this is Mark, Trey, and Steve. Mark, Trey, Steve this is Nick, AJ, and Brian."
Everybody exchanged 'hellos' and then Mark turned to Stephanie, "Are we still on for dinner tomorrow?" "Yeah." "Cool."
Stephanie smiled and he gave her a kiss.
"Bye guys." Stephanie said.
Mark, Trey, and Steve walked out to the car. Before Mark got in, he said, "Steph, I need my hat."
Stephanie put her hands on the top of her head where the hat was.
"I'll give it to you tomorrow." "Fine."
He got in the car and they drove away.
"Are you guys going to come in." Stephanie asked. "Yeah." Nick said a little disappointed. "What's the matter?" Stephanie asked. "Nothing." Nick said. "Ok. Just to warn you, Amanda and Chloe are here. When I told them I was having guys over, they just had to stay."
They all smiled and then followed Stephanie into the living room where Amanda and Chloe were fighting over the remote control.
"Amanda, Chloe this is Brian and AJ and you already know Nick. Guys, this is Amanda and Chloe." "Steph, Can I talk to you for a minute?" Amanda asked. "Can it wait?" "No. It can't."
Stephanie sighed. Then she followed Amanda out into the hall.
"What?" Stephanie asked. "What is wrong with um, um the blonde guy?" "Nick?" "Yeah, him." "I asked him the same question and he said nothing." "He looks upset.
Stephanie shrugged her shoulders.
"Are you clueless about everything?"
Stephanie smiled and nodded her head. Amanda laughed and they started walking back to the living room.
"When is your mom coming home?" Amanda asked. "I don't know." Stephanie said right before the phone started ringing.
"Hello?" "Steph. It'm mom." "Mom? Where are you? You sound distant." "I'm in Hong Kong." "What are you doing there?" "I'm on a business trip. I'll be home in 2 weeks. Is there any place you can go? Unless you want to stay home." "I can go to Mark's house." "No." "Fine. I'll stay home." "What happened to Jeff?" "He dumped me." "Why?" "I dunno." "You seem pretty happy." "Cause I am." "I'm not going to ask." "Then don't. Mom, I kind-of have to go." "Alright, bye." "Bye."
Stephanie hung up the phone and sat down on the couch.
"Geez. She never shuts up." "Are you going out with one of those guys from before?" AJ asked Stephanie." "Yeah." "Oh." Do you guys have boyfriends?" he asked Amanda and Chloe. "No. All the good-looking guys are after Stephanie." Chloe said. "I can see why." "Are you saying that I'm pretty?" Stephanie asked. "No. Your beautiful."
Stephanie blushed.
"Are you guys going to the pep rally tomorrow?" Stephanie asked trying to change the subject.
AJ and Brian looked at Nick and he said, "I guess so."
They all sat around for awhile and talked. Then AJ, Brian, Nick, Amanda, and Chloe left and Stephanie went to bed.
