Best of the Metal Shops (1985-1987)


In 1984 there was a midnight, 90 minute radio show on WYSP in Philadelphia called "Metal Shop," which featured then current heavy metal music, along with comedic talk featuring a host and three sidekicks. Bob was an avid fan, listening every week. Gregg, Joe and a few other friends were casual fans as well. When the show lost its host and appeal in late 1985, Bob decided to make home versions of the show with Gregg and Joe, and later Mark Zagari and friend Bob Gannone. They took the last names as the original hosts and made distinct original features of their own. No one other than Bob liked doing them at first, but then Gregg got into it and Mark enjoyed it as well, every now and then. This 2 CD set features the best clips taken from the three years Bob, Gregg and friends recorded their own homegrown "metal shops." Classic and demented material!
