        Trimmigan, Sr. died in Robeson County, North Carolina, sometime after March 26, 1817 on which date he gave a deed to his son Samuel Thompson.   Sarah Bridgers, Trimmigan's wife, lived about with her children until 1849 at 94 when she died.   She is said to have been one of the first Methodists in the county, and was taken into the church with her sister, Patience Bridgers Kitchen and brother-in-law, Joseph Kitchen, by Bishop Francis Asbury.   They were both fine singers, and it is said Patience would lead in prayer, or pitch the tune in meetings.   Patience was also a relative as she later married Lemuel Thompson, brother of Trimmigan Thompson Sr.

        (1)   John Thompson (called Jack) was born in Nash County April 17, 1777 and died in Robeson County December 9, 1874.   He came to Robeson County with his parents when they returned after the Revolutionary War and lived with them until grown, then settled on the farm at the precinct of Thompson's Township.   He married Elizabeth Kitchen, daughter of his uncle and aunt, Joseph and Patience (Bridgers) Kitchen.   John had two sons and six daughters:

          (3) Sally Jane
          (4) Harriet                 b April 1804       d Oct 13, 1881
          (5) Assenith (Senith)
          (6) Helen
          (7) Mary
          (8) Charlotte                   d 1872

        John was a man of integrity, temperence and patience; hence his great age.   After the death of his wife, he lived at the old Homeplace with his daughter Charlotte until her
