Basic Tie-Dye Patterns

Color Band

The most basic of all patterns. They can be put in different shapes and places. Most common are ribs, V’s, X’s and zig zags

Ribs

Basically a large color band going vertically down the shirt

V Neck

Another color band in the shape of a V

Zig Zag

Another color band, zig zagging across the shirt

Spiral

This is pretty self explanatory. It can be done with 2 or more colors. Radially lines can also be imposed over the spiral

Half spiral

Although it looks little like a spiral, this is based on the same pattern. This is a lined half spiral

Circles

The basic concentric pattern can be applied to many different shapes. Circles, squares, and diamonds are the most basic

Drop

Basically a concentric circle that isn’t at the shirt’s center. The line going to the top makes it appear to be a drop

Heart

Another concentric, put a trickier one.

Flag

This is a singular pattern, designed to look something like the US flag. It gives the idea of what can be done with some imagination.

Shoes

Technically, these are not tie-dyed as they are not folded into a pattern. Still, anything cotton can be dyed.
