Wow, what a day! It started around 9:15am. I got to NYC to meet Marlise and her friend. They wanted to go to the hotel, so I decided to go with them. Had nothing else to do that day....LOL!
When we got there, it was, I guess around 10:00am. They wanted something to eat, so we went to a coffee shop.
When we got back, we sat down in the benches outside the hotel. I was totally out of it at this point and falling asleep at the same time (I had only about 5 1/2 hours of sleep). We were sitting there for awhile and was about to leave (because I was zoning in and out of conscious, and they were freezing), when SIMON walked past us and into the side entrance with a little green shopping bag, black coat, sunglasses, and some kind of black Russian hat. I didn't really notice him at first, but that was because I had already fallen asleep, but trying to stay awake. However, Marlise and her friend did. They told me that was him who walked by, and I was like "that's nice" (I told you I was out of it....LOL). I had a feeling, though, he didn't want to be recognized anyway.
Well, after that little moment, Marlise was determined to stay; so we waited awhile longer to see if anyone else would show up. I could hardly keep my eyes opened, so I told them it was up to them to be the look outs....LOL!
I am not so sure how long we were sitting out there, but luckily for me, I was dressed warmly (hence I was able to fall asleep in zero degree temperature). However, Marlise and her friend were freezing. I asked them if they wanted to leave, but they said no; so I went back to sleep again (well, sort of. Kind of going in and out. It was really hard to keep my eyes opened). After awhile, we managed to see the guys get into a taxi (yes, a taxi). I thought that was kind of funny.
After those two sightings, we decided to leave and go back to the Port Authority to meet Tina. Marlise and her friend wanted to go to someplace warm. We were just happy to see them.
When Tina finally arrived, we went to the theatre. We had to take two VERY CROWDED SUBWAYS. This is one of the reasons why I am glad I moved out of NYC. NO CROWDED SUBWAYS!!!! (Sorry, I hate crowds.)
In any event, let's jump to the concert now. The opening act was okay, actually, much better than their previous opening acts. I forgot what their names were, but they were pretty good.
Okay, so the boys were 15 minutes late (what else is new, folks?), but they gave yet another fabulous performance. This was a very good show, considering it was the first night of this tour, despite SIMON forgetting the words in two songs. We had row W center, and still was able to see them.
SIMON was wearing an off white shirt and beige pants, NICK had on a black suit (I see he is getting back into suits now....woo hoo!). They were in fine form, full of energy, and smiling all over the place.
The highlights of the show for me was "UNION OF THE SNAKE" and "I DON'T WANT YOUR LOVE" - since I have never heard those songs live before. In addition, I was very surprised to hear "MICHAEL" again, which is another great song; and the opening song "SILVA HALO" seem to just fit as an introduction to what was going to happen next. When SIMON introduced "COME UNDONE" as a "Sex song" and to "think of your favorite sex act", I was thinking it was "U.M.F" at first, but what a way to introduce any song, huh ladies? Hee, hee!
The crowd was so happening, except for the deadbeats who were in our section. Come on, at least move around people! They just stood there and watched, it's like hello? Might as well just sit down.
I had a really great time at this show, and my friend and I screamed our asses off (and this was only the first night, we still had another concert tomorrow)!
