Well folks, here we go again! Another great soap event at Uncle Vinny's Comedy Club in Point Pleasant, NJ! The guys who run the place, Dino and his brother, are really great. It's so cool that they are able to get these soap stars to come to New Jersey and party with us, the fans....LOL!
Anyway, since this event didn't start until 11:00am, I left the house around 8:30am this morning. I arrived around 9:30-9:45am. There were already a lot of people inside, but I managed to still get a great seat. It really doesn't matter where you sit there because it's such a small venue, so everyone gets a great view. I ended up being in the first row on the left side which was fine.
Once again, Dino made his usual announcements before the event got started. One of them was the event for March 20th, Steve Burton and Derk Cheetwood (Jason Morgan and Max Gambini - General Hospital). That one had to be rescheduled due to Steve's busy GH schedule. Instead, Steve and Derk are going to be there on June 12th, which was fine by me. AS LONG AS IT WASN'T CANCELLED....LOL!! I had gotten an e-mail two days before; so I had called Dino and told him that my friend and I will be at the June 12th event; so it was all good. :)
In addition, he again mentioned Jason Thompson (Dr. Patrick Drake - GH) was going to be there later on and Brandon Barash (Johnny Zacchara - GH), and possibly Greg Vaughan (Lucky Spencer) and Natalia Livingston (Rebbecca - GH). I never met Natalia so that would be cool if that happens. He also talked about the upcoming events (Tyler Christopher [Nikolas] and Sarah Brown [Claudia Zacchara] on April 5, and some AMC people on May 3rd).
Dino also asked, as usual, for requests and some asked for Maurice Bernard (Sonny Corinthos - GH). Oh man, I WOULD SO BE HERE IF HE EVER DECIDES TO FLY OVER! Others asked for my other main man, Trevor St. John (Todd Manning - OLTL). Dino said that he heard he wasn't that friendly, boy did a bunch of us had to tell him he was DEAD WRONG....LOL! Trevor is one of the nicest people I ever met....Hee hee! So he's going to consider it. I'LL BE THERE, as Jackson Five would say....LOL!
Well once all of that was over, there was still a few minutes before Michael was going to come onstage; so I texted my friend who could not be here; and then I got a call from him....LOL! I talked to him for awhile to pass the time since I had gone solo to this event.
Finally, it was time for Michael to come onstage. He first apologized to everyone who was at "The Brokerage" the night before (he did an event and brought along Trevor St. John. Apparently, one lady fan was not happy about that and was really very rude to Trevor. I'm sorry, but that's not right. There was someone who sat next to me, a mother and a daughter, who was at the event and the daughter told me that when Trevor asked her if she was having a good time, she was like "no!" and then Michael went to give her a kiss and then when Trevor asked her if she wanted one from him too, she said "no!" very adamantly and Trevor was like, "this is my cue to leave". It had happened towards the end of the event. That's fucked up. I mean, okay so maybe she's not a fan of TSJ and that's fine - everyone has their favorites, or maybe she was just strictly a Michael Easton fan, who knows? She still should have at least pretended to like Trevor instead of being rude like that). Michael did not know what that lady's problem was. Just about everyone who was in the audience was at the event last night, so there was a pretty long discussion about that and the other things that happened that night.
There were also questions about the writers on OLTL. I didn't know this, but Michael is a writer himself and wrote some books (one of them was being sold there); so he had a lot to say about what the writers on the show were doing (or were not doing).
There was a question about when is John going to make up his mind about Marty or Blair and Michael Easton didn't quite really answer the question, but he did talk about the situation....LOL!
Some man, who had been scoping the place for other guys before the event started, said to Michael "out of the six guys that are here, I am proud to say that I love watching your show". Of course, he then went to add, "I have to admit, my wife makes me watch". So we know the secret now! LOL! Everyone laughed.
There were also talks about the, now defunct, PORT CHARLES and Michael said that he liked the storylines there and that he's into Vampires and stuff. I immediately thought of my friend who is also in that....LOL!
Someone had asked Michael how Scott Clifton (ex-Dillan Quartermaine, GH - now plays Skyler Joplin on OLTL) was adjusting to the show. Michael said that he's doing okay and wished that he had scenes with him.
There was also talks about Phil Carey (Asa Buchanan), and Michael told the story that Phil's name was really Gene but because there were so many "Genes" on the show at the time, he was told to change his name....LOL! Michael also talked about how Bob S. Woods (Bo Buchanan) held a memorial for him. Speaking of Bob, Michael also said how he loves working with him.
Someone mentioned Kassie Depaiva and Susan Haskell (Blair Craimer and Marty Saybrooke), and how great they are with him. Michael agreed. He said that they are two of the best people to work with.
When it came time for the autograph signing, I have to admit that I was feeling a little nervous. I think I wouldn't have felt nervous so much if I was with someone, but oh well....LOL!
They were giving out free pictures so I got that signed in addition to my OLTL book. Michael was like "oh you brought the big book!" I said, "yep!" Then he was like, "where do you want me to sign?" And I told him, "right there" and pointed to an empty spot....LOL! I asked Michael about his photography. I said that I had the "One Life, Many Voices" CD where he did the pictures for the CD. I wanted to know if he does them professionally. He said no and that there are some pics on his website Michael Easton. He said he mainly does landscaping. I told him that he was great on show. He said, "thank you and it was nice meeting you". :)
My hands were shaking during the moment and were still shaking after the moment, but you know what? It was well worth it, and I was able to hide the fact that my hands were shaking so no one noticed but me....LOL! Ha, well, this is what happens when one meets Michael Easton....LMAO!
Once again, I had a good time. I am so ready for the next one (which will be Tyler Christopher and Sarah Brown)!
