Hello, hello!
I had the opportunity to see the Mets play at Shea Stadium this year (which happens to be their last season at this stadium) with my friend. He's the one who's the Mets fan, I was there for the ride....LOL! In 2009, the Mets will be in a new stadium, called Citi Field (yep, owned by CitiBank) next door.
Anyway, I saw them for the first time back in July 7, 2006 as a Kean University trip and then I saw them again on May 26, 2008 (Memorial Day and four days before we saw Duran Duran live at Central Park [thanks to an e-mail from Fandango]).
Both times we saw The Mets, they were playing against the Florida Marlins. The lost on the day we saw them, but the next day they won. My friend and I thought that was really funny. I guess we can't go to Mets games anymore since each time we were there they lost and then they won the next day....LOL!
Anyway, unlike in 2006, I took pictures this time around. I didn't have time to take pics of Shea Stadium during the day (altough I got some pics inside), however I got some night pictures of the building.
That's the ticket from 2006. I can't believe I still had it!
The ticket I had in 2008, plus a free popcorn voucher (which we never used....LOL!)
I took this picture of the "Mets Clubhouse" outside Shea Stadium
You can see the Manhattan skyline in the distance as well as the sun setting. I was aiming for the skyline mainly. The sun setting was an added bonus.
I was trying to get the skyline in the background there (of Queens I believe)
Shea stadium is fairly close to an airport (not quite sure which one) and every five seconds there was an airplane that flew by, so I took a picture of one....LOL (there was nothing else to do at the time)!
My friend had the aisle seat, so I wanted him to take a picture of the Mets logo on the ground
Even the penguins had a great time....LOL!
