I had the wonderful pleasure of finally meeting Ted King (ex-Lorenzo Alcazar "General Hospital"). He did have an event in NYC about two years ago (he was still on the show at the time). Unfortunately, I was unable to attend. I was so bummed! So, naturally, when I found out he was coming back to NYC this year I had to grab the chance.
He walked into the room wearing a black hat, all black outfit, red leather jacket, and glasses (he took off the glasses and hat when he came around the tables). I was like, "oh my God". See why I love him?
During the Q&A, he talked about various projects he's been working on since GH and someone asked him to talk about a play he was doing but he couldn't talk about it because he wasn't registered with the guild or something like that. He also mentioned that he wrote a music article and he also knew the producers of "Green Day" and "Radiohead". Someone asked him if he missed working with the GH cast and he had said that he still sees some of them (Tamara Braun and Tyler Christopher were some of the people he mentioned). Speaking of Tamara, another fan commented that she loved the CarLo scenes with him and Tamara and also she liked SkyLo.
Okay, like, our table was really something....LOL! While we were waiting for Ted to come around, the ladies at our table had my friend and I cracking up to past the time. My friend was the only guy at the table so they were harping on him (he didn't mind....LMAO!). We all had a good laugh - including him. I especially liked the one where they kept telling my friend to drink lots of water and take a camera into the bathroom when Ted King goes....LMAO! One of the ladies asked if we met online and I said that we met in college. She was like "oh that's boring. Everyone meets in college. It's more exciting to say we met online through the GH messageboard!" They were so funny and it was a pleasure meeting them.
When Ted finally came around, the same lady who asked my friend and I how we met was the same one that said to Ted that my friend and I were boyfriend and girlfriend - she was being silly. Ted was like "oh wonderful". I quickly said, "no we are not boyfriend and girlfriend." Troublemaker....LOL!! I said to Ted that I missed him on GH and he said, "Thank you. I really appreciate that." He asked my friend and I if we were long GH fans and I told him that I got my friend into the show recently. He asked me what my favorite storyline was and I said, "past or present?" He was like, "from today", and I told him that I liked the storyline with Nikolas and Anthony Zaccara. He was like "the new crime boss?" I said, "yes." He was like, "I'll be sure to tell them." He saw the picture I had purchased and he was like "who's this for?" I said, "me." He was like "you want me to sign it to me?" I started laughing. I said, "no it's for me". He's so funny.
Overall, another great experience (see my past events if you hadn't already to read about those). This was my first GH event and I am so glad I had this opportunity. I absolutely LOVE Ted King - he is one of my favorite daytime actors and I love him even more now after meeting him - especially after he had his arm around me like that for the picture....hee hee!!
