My Dedication Page

They lay,in a Garden Of Stone.
Fathers,sisters,and brothers.
And now my Question, where are the others?
Those sons of ours who went to fight.
They answered the call.
All brave they were, saying goodbye to mothers.
But still I ask,Where are the others?
Son's who never came home, and still no word.
Years have gone by.
Wives wait still today.
And no one seem's to know what to say.
Two thousand lost men.
Will we ever see them again?
No one wants to search.
No one wants to look.
What a shame, what a chapter in our book.
Again,I ask,where are the others?
Could they still be there?
Wondering,where we are?
Won't someone find our boys?
Bring them to us?
So many have paid the price.
To keep us free,they said.
But what about the others?
Our missing fathers,son's,and brothers.
Where are the others?
A wave of shame,is what I feel.
To think they are forgotten.
Not in my heart, for I feel.
And I want to know, where are the others?
They have closed a book of shame.
In it are two thousand names.
Until they find them.
Until they try.
Until they say there is no hope.
My Question remains.
Where are the others?

In Loving Memory

This Page is Dedicated in the Memory of George Franklin Schafer. Known to all His Family and Friends as,"Pete."

Pete was my Sister Eva's Husband and they had a little Girl named, Almira. Almira was just a couple of months old, when Pete was sent overseas to fight in World II. He saw His little Girl just before He shipped over to Fight for the Country that He loved.

Pete went to Italy and there He was Killed in Action on January 23, 1944. He is still buried in Italy. It was on the Anniversary of His Death, that I found the Cemetery where He is Buried. This put a closure on His death for me. I loved and still to this day miss Him very much.

I was a child of 10 when we received the news of His dying, it was the first time Death was ever part of my life. So Rest in Peace My Hero.

At the Bottom of this Page I have compiled a List of Military Oriented Links that would be of vast Importance to the Veterans and their Families.

The site where I found Pete's grave and many others. I hope these will be of a great help as they were to me.

God Bless and take time to Thank a Vet for your Freedom.
