This month's "Jackass of the Month Award" goes to two true teenage jackasses in New York. After watching the popular MTV show, ironically titled, "Jackass", two teens from New York decided it would be fun to re-create the "Human Barbecue" stunt. For those of you who have not seen this stunt performed, it involves a person donning a fireproof suit with raw meat attached to it. The person then has a siesta on a large grill while his cohorts pour accelerants on to him. Now, our woefully bored teenagers made sure to equip themselves with everything except for one important thing...THE FIREPROOF SUIT! The dumber of the two (I know it's hard to imagine that one had less intelligence than the other, but you're gonna have to trust me on this one) allowed his friend (if you can call him that) to pour lighter fluid on his legs, light the fire, and hopefully enjoy a filet mignon. The hopelessly stupid grill boy suffered third degree burns on both legs and ruined his chances of working the grill at Roy Rogers as he had aspired.
Now guess who gets the blame...of course, the show. Did anyone ever think that the reason they titled the show "Jackass" is because you'd have to be a jackass to try any of the stunts they do on the show. At their age, they should be old enough to understand that some things are purely for entertainment, to enjoy in the safe, comfort of your home and laugh.
Why would you let your friend light you on fire especially considering the stunt you are trying to imitate was done with a fireproof suit. Of all the dumb things I've done in my life (and I could set up a a whole other site to list those) I (and hopefully anyone who checks out this site) would never allow my friends to sucker me into doing some stupid feat like this (although some of my friends would probably try to con me into doing something like that...like RANDY!).
So here's a Bronx cheer coming straight from the other side of the Hudson. Congratulations! You've received the recognition you've been "burning" with desire to get.
