Eunos Roadster at the Del-Val Miata Club 09/09/01 COVERED BRIDGE TOUR.

The number of Miata's for this years Covered Bridge Tour again set a new record for a driving event with 58 cars participating.

The first of eight covered bridges that we crossed was the Van Sant Bridge crossing over Pidcock Creek. The bridge was built in 1875 and is 86 feet long.

The second covered bridge that we crossed was the Loux Bridge crossing over Cabin Run Creek. The bridge was built in 1874 and is 60 feet long.

The third of eight covered bridges that we crossed was the Cabin Run Bridge crossing over Cabin Run Creek. The bridge was built in 1871 and is 82 feet long. We crossed this bridge twice, coming from each direction.

The fourth of eight covered bridges that we crossed was the Frankenfield Bridge crossing over Tinicum Creek. The bridge was built in 1872 and is 130 feet long.

The fifth of eight covered bridges that we crossed was the Erwinna Bridge crossing over Lodi Creek. The bridge was built in 1832 and is the shortest covered bridge in the county at 56 feet long.

The sixth of eight covered bridges that we crossed was the Knecht's Bridge [sometimes called "Slifer's Bridge"]. The bridge was built in 1873 and is 110 feet long.

The seventh of eight covered bridges that we crossed was the Sheard's Mill Bridge often called "Thatcher's Bridge" crossing over Tohickon Creek. The bridge was built in 1873 and is 130 feet long.

The eighth and last covered bridge of the day that we crossed was the Mood's Bridge crossing over the NE branch of the Perkiomen Creek. The bridge was built in 1874 [rebuilt in 1962] and is 120 feet long.

Everyone enjoyed the food and atmoshpere at the Great American Grill on Route 611 in Kintnersville. Finally a big thanks and congratulations to Fred and Marty Staffieri for providing and organizing such a wonderful event.
