This is the link to the Route on NEXTBUS. Advice:
Note: ALL PREDICTION TIMES on Nextbus ARE APPROXIMATE. Buses may be late due to traffic, poor road conditions, or any unique/unusual situation. GPS equipment problems may also throw times off. Also, the computer you're using may/may also affect whether you're able to get accurate tracking. Always allow as much time as possible to get to the bus stop (or to travel for that matter). Note: Click on the actual stop on the GOOGLE map to get the PREDICTION TIMES. |
Stop List> What bus stops the bus services, in the order listed. To get to a certain area/building of a campus, get off at the closest bus stop to your point of destination. You have to check with a campus map to see what stop is closest to where. |

Since Monday 1/23/2012, a specifically designated "B" bus called with "B-He" displayed on its destination sign, will be the only "B" bus stopping there. NO OTHER BUSES STOP THERE. Since there's only one "B-He", it'll stop there about every half hour (a normal roundtrip in 30 minutes; divided by 1 bus). -The C, before Sept 2000, serviced the EOHSI stop and not the ARC stop. In order to service the ARC stop, the road at the stop had to be changed to allow for the U-turn. After this stop was changed, some students had complained about the decreased convienence/coverage of the EOSHI stop and the immediate buildings around it. -From Spring 2003 until Spring 2005, it use to run until 9:30 PM, but demand was low for the bus (everyone was using the A or H buses anyway). This changed (in part) some 7 years later in 2012... -With the removal of the Lot 48A stop, the C bus reverts to what it was from September 2000 until May 2004. |

ROUTE FUNFACTS:
-Meant to be an express between the academic classroom areas/buildings of the Douglass and Busch Campuses. Thus part of the 'REXB' name scheme: RUTGERS EXPRESS BUSCH when the route was conceived mid September 2005. -From Fall 2005 until the end of Spring 2007: The destination signs (eventually) read: . They dropped the word "SPECIAL" starting in Fall 2007. When the route first got created a few weeks into the Fall 2005 semester, the destination signs were NOT yet programmed. The signs displayed "SPECIAL" , along with paper signs being used to display "REXB." When they were finally programmed later, they displayed and nothing else. -Fall 2007 until late April 2009: The destination signs read: . -Starting in April 2009: "DOUGLASS" and "BUSCH" added to the destination sign display/message. >>STARTING FALL 2010: THE NUMBER OF REXB BUSES WILL RISE FROM 3 to 4. THE "FOURTH" REXB BUS CAME FROM THE NOW TERMINATED L ROUTE. -up to 4 buses on the
route (3 was the magic # mid Fall 2005 until Spring 2010; 4 was the # when
the route first debuted mid September 2005, but later adjusted).
On Fridays, the # drops down to only two after 3 PM. The old "G"
used to do this on Fridays back when it was still running.
-Due to security/safety concerns, the REXB/REXL routes were changed starting for the Spring Semester 2009 semester. Students will be able to go from Busch/Livingston DIRECTLY to/from Rockoff...after 9 PM when there are less connecting buses in service... -The REXL and REXB buses were supposed to stop at Rockoff Hall on the way FROM Cook/Douglass after 9 PM, but issues (road construction at the very beginning of Fall 2009 semester and bus stop location approval from the city) prevented that from ever being implemented at the both start of Fall 2009 (as originally intended) and Spring 2010 semester. |

Students will be able to go from Busch/Livingston DIRECTLY to/from Rockoff...after 9 PM when there are less connecting buses in service... -The Quads bus stop was finally added to the route during the 2009 Spring Semester. Since the Livingston Student Center renovations began mid-Fall Semester 2008 had closed the bus lane, the REXL was forced to exit the campus in a slightly different manner, forcing the buses to pass by the Quads without stopping (it IS en EXPRESS bus after all). Student petitions/government prompted the change. The bus lane had reopened for Fall Semester 2009, so the route will again NOT go to the Quads, making this stop only part of the route for the Spring AND during the selected days it ran on during the Summer of 2009. When the new Livingston Business School construction started in late 2011; the construction AGAIN forced the REXL bus to change its route enroute back to Douglass from the Livingston Student Center. While the bus AGAIN passed by the Quads stop; the stop was NOT put back onto the REXL route in ANY capacity; again to emphasize the "EX" (EXPRESS) in 'REXL'. This will last until the end of Spring 2013l -The REXL route ran during the summer of 2009, on selective days between 6/15/2009 and 8/10/2009, BECAUSE OF SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES (New Student Orientation). This has NOT been repeated thus far. >>Fall 2012: FIVE REXL buses (up from 4) running at peak Mon-Thurs due to the expected passengers demand generated thanks in part to the new Livingston dorms opening up by Fall 2012; and REXL general performance from Fall 2011-Spring 2012 (needed improvement). |

F: COLLEGE AVE/ DOUGLASS/ COOK Rutgers Student Center, Scott Hall, Rutgers Public Safety Building South (Commercial Ave), Cabaret Theatre/Jameson, Red Oak Lane, Lipman Hall, Food Science Building, Biel Road, Henderson, Katzenbach, Gibbons, College Hall, Student Activities Center >>The F added back the Red Oak Lane, Lipman Hall, Henderson Apartments, and the Gibbons bus stops during mid September 2011 (due to student complaints, especially since the EE was affected by the cut stops on the F). Cute fact: The last time the 'EE' and 'F' got (majorly) 'adjusted', was the Fall of 2005. The eventual negative feedback led to the readjustment of the 'EE' and 'F', along with the creation of the 'REXB' and 'REXL' routes.

Don't expect to see this rarity again anytime soon! >>The LX route, starting from January 2007, will closely resemble the route when it started back in September of 1996. In simplest terms, the "X" (express) was being put back into the "LX." >>The LX now loops around the Livingston campus in a similar fashion to the "B." >>The LX now gets onto Route 18 South in a similar fashion to the "REXL." -Starting
in April 2009: The 'LX' destination signs changed. They now
remind the fact that the 'LX' is an "EXPRESS" bus between service "COLLEGE

New Brunsquick 2 Shuttle: Fixed Stop
List (NON-PEAK ROUTE/HOURS):
Remember that while shuttle runs all day during the semester, it CANNOT go through Buccleuch Park and to the Colony House during any OTHER time other than from between 6-9 AM and 4-7 PM. |
-The Shuttle is set up for use/paid for by Rutgers University and the city of New Brunswick/New Brunswick Parking Authority. That's why it services part of the city and the campus... and during the times it does (especially when classes are NOT in session)... services for both student and local resident/commuter use. -This route was previously
known as the "5th and 6th Ward Shuttles" from Sept 2001 until November
25, 2002. It is still known as this today (to a certain extent) .
Anyway, the route we know today was suppose to go into service at the Fall
2001 semester, but due to several issues, the "New Brunsqwick Shuttle"
wasn't able to start until 2002. While it was the "5th and 6th Ward
Shuttle," it operated from 7 AM until 10 PM, with 2 mini shuttles used
to provide normal service.
-Why the route changed during the summer 2009: To incorporate the newly constructed Nursing School building in downtown New Brunswick into the route. This resulted in the shuttle running less frequently (BEFORE: 20 minute non-peak route; 25 minute peak route; NOW: 25 minute non-peak; 30minute peak route) as sufficient time must be given for the shuttle to safely get around/still "run on time." -Route changed again by the start of Fall 2011 (when First Transit took control of campus bus operations). The former New Brunsquick/Ward Shuttle route was split in two. Brunsquick 1 is part of the former single route, and Brunsquick 2 is sort of a reverse/opposite. The differences between the two routes include the fact that NBQ1S services Scott Hall <after leaving from RSC>, but the NBQ2S does not go there at all. And also the NBQ2S services the Train Station bus stop on George Street (by Albany), Zimmerli, and the SAC <all enroute to RSC>; and the NBQ1S does not go to these stops at all. The stop differences is due to the way some streets are set up in the city of New Brunswick (some are one way); and also no one wants bus stops on BOTH sides of the street at College Avenue/RSC AGAIN.
