Kitty Felix was the spirited, independent-minded second child of a well-educated Jewish family, growing up in Bielsko, Poland in the 1930s. In 1943, at the age of seventeen, she was sent to Auschwitz along with her mother. The video follows Kitty, now a radiographer in England, as she goes back with her grown son to the camp where she survived for two years. She revisits the barracks, the work area, and the latrines, recalling what existence was like there. While this is clearly painful for her, she endures it in order to tell her story, which is the story of millions of others as well. "You are here," she tells her son, "just to see that it is true, that it was true, and you can tell your children."
