Mom's Poems

In going through my mothers things since
losing her, I came across some poems that she
had written as a child, or perhaps a teenager.
I thought I would share them with everyone,
as I am sure that Mom would have loved for me
to share them with her friends and family.
I had no idea that my mother was a poet of
sorts, but I guess I now know where I got
my poetry writing tallent from
Enjoy!

The Rabbit
By; Virginia Berger (Nothe)

The rabbit is very soft and white,
His tail is made of fluff,
And I wouldn't mind it very much,
If he'd sit on my bureau
and be my little powder puff.

The Sailboat
By; Virginia Berger(Nothe)

I know a little sailboat,
That comes sailing down the stream,
And when it comes in to the dock,
It gleams, and gleams, and gleams.

The Old and the New
By; Virginia Berger (Nothe)

Now, once again, a year has passed,
But still it's memories will last;
Some are good and some we dread,
But with great hope, we'll look ahead.

Ring out the old, ring in the new,
New Year's Eve was over too soon;
With parties, celebrations, and all kinds of things,
Those pleasures that New Year's Eve brings.

And since the New Year has begun,
We'll think of all the things we've done;
The happy times we've had each year,
Are all in our minds, very clear.
