Great website..
Today Mrs. Benincasa told me to add in a link to a great website. This website is www.initaly.com
The great thing about it is that all the information is in English!

    *OLD UPDATES FROM 2004-2005*
  • Everyone have an enjoyable summer vacation! and see you all next year in the Italian Club!
  • On May 12, 2005 the Italian Club went to the Garibaldi-Meucci Museum in Staten Island and then to Cafe Capri in New Jersey. The food was very good and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. It also helped that the day was very pleasant.
  • ATTENTION: There will be an Italian Club meeting on Monday May 2nd after school,concerning the upcoming fieldtrip.
  • Yesterday (4/15/05) some of the Italian club members went to the New York State Theater to see "Madama Butterfly". It was very beautiful and tragic at the same time.The actors and actresses received many applauses from the public.The opera was about 3 hours long, with 3 acts. I added some pictures I took from the opera.Unfortunately I couldn't take pictures while the opera was taking place, well enjoy the pictures and thanks to those who came.
  • The candy arrived on 3/11/05, to those who haven't picked up their candy yet please do so on Monday.If you are going to the Opera you must pick up an additional box.You must go to the Language Department (opposite room 310) to get your candy, if you have any questions ask Mrs.Benincasa.GOOD LUCK with the selling!
  • The Carnevale went very well.Many people showed up and had fun. There was even a DJ and many went out to the "dance floor" and danced. Thanks everyone for showing up and also thank you very much to those who brought food/supplies.
  • On January 11th, 2005 there was a meeting..few people came so it was decided to make a mandatory meeting on Friday, January 14th for those who didn't come to the first meeting. The main issue to be discussed was the Carnevale.More details of the Carnevale coming up soon.
  • The Italian Club will take pictures for the yearbook on January 4, 2005 right after 10th period in the auditorium.
  • Next Meeting is: December 14 2004.
  • *IMPORTANT* IF YOU SIGNED UP FOR THE GRAB BAG..DON'T FORGET TO BRING YOUR GIFT ON DECEMBER 14TH!!..IF YOU CAN'T STAY, STOP BY TO LEAVE THE PRESENT AT LEAST.:)
  • On the meeting we will have the grab bag (interchange of gifts) and have as always something to eat :)..so stop by and hang out with us! :)
  • Ciao!..sorry I haven't updated. The movie the Italian Club watched on the 5th was "Pinocchio". Really fun and cute movie..a handful of the members including myself stayed 'till 5:30 pm for the end of the movie. We had popcorn and other chips and soda :)..thanks to all those who came :)
  • 11/05/04:On November 9th we will discuss about the grab bag and the opera.Also we will watch the movie "Ciao Professore" hope to see you there..if you can't attend contact Mrs. Benincasa.
  • 10/22/04:Ciao! on 10/19/04 there was an Italian Club Meeting.
  • The Vice-President was chosen[Robert P.](Congratulations)
  • It was stated that every second Tuesday of each month there will be an Italian meeting held after 10th period.
  • After the voting took place the club had a small party (pizza and soda).






  • OUTLINE OF 2004-2005 CLUB ACTIVITIES:

  • These activities might change date or not occur at all. These are just ideas of what the club is planning to do.
  • Club meetings will be held every second Tuesday of the month.
  • For November’s meeting (November 9th) we are planning to show an Italian movie. (Any suggestions are welcome)[DONE]
  • In December we want to have a grab bag (more details on next meetings.)[DONE]
  • On February 11th all the Language Clubs will have a big party (CARNEVALE).(more details on upcoming meetings.)[DONE]
  • In the Spring we will see an opera.(April 15th) [DONE]
  • Also in the spring we want to go to an Italian restaurant and a cultural , italian related, place. UPDATE:May 12th is the field trip. [DONE]
  • Sometime in May we want to play the game of Bocce in 80th street Park.(there will be more details around that date.)
  • Finally if you have any suggestions of field trips or activities for the club please tell any of the executive board or Mrs. Benincasa in school OR e-mail me at+click here+ .





  • CARNEVALE:

  • The Carnevale will take place on Friday February ,11 2005 [Carnevale is over and it went well.]
  • The party will be held after 10th period in Cafeteria B.
  • All that attend the party must bring food, beverages or supplies for the party.
  • Only members that have a pass will be admitted. If you don't have a pass see Mrs. Benincasa before January 28!
  • All memebers should at least wear a mask that has been made or decorated by themselves.
  • You can come in dressed up (since is a carnival!)in typical Italian costumes.
  • There will be a contest for the following categories:
    Best costume
    Most Original Costume
    Funniest Costume
    Best Presentation
    Best Mask Contest
  • A committee of your peers and the club moderators will be the judges.
