Awesome Civil War 83rd Pennsylvania Volunteers French chasseur coat button. It is a 1-piece, cast white metal, convex coat button. The front has a beautiful droop wing eagle with 13 stars above. The detail and patina are excellent. It is listed as PA 48 in Albert's and PA235 B1. in Tice's button book. The reverse has a raised CORDIER FRERES PARIS backmark. The shank is straight.
