BIO
Ted Chronopoulos was traded to the MetroStars in what is considered to be MLS' biggest trade ever. Chronpoulos looked solid in the first few games for the MetroStars. But the magic that then Metros had after the trade soon came to an end. Chrono started to look slow in the four man backline. He was benched for a few games at the end of the season, and was replaced by rookie Nelso Akwari. But Octavio Zambrano decided that a slow experienced defender is better than a fast, promising young player. So Akwari sat, and Chrono started.

Before coming to the Metros, Ted played with the Revs for six years. In 1999 Chrono earned his second cap for the US National Team. He was voted as an All-Star in 1997.
