Makai

U.S. Dolphin Handler Petty Officer Buddy Bickford stands with 'his' Atlantic bottle-nosed dolphin 'Makai' who has been specially trained to detect underwater mines, in southern Iraq, March 25, 2003. As the latest weapon to be used by U.S.-led forces in the war with Iraq, this is the first time that the dolphins of U.S. Marine Mammals Unit have been used for mine clearance in a combat zone.

If you have pictures of Makai and would like to submit them to this page please do. :) Email pictures to Orcaholic2001@aol.com. Thank you.
