Sigma's History

Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc was founded at Kean College in Union, New Jersey on December 1, 1975. The Fraternity originated in response to the needs of the Latino Population at Kean. The Concept of the Fraternity was used to unify the different Latin clubs and organizations in order to have a more effective means of accomplishing goals and objectives. With this in mind, the Fraternity’s Founding Fathers continued their struggle to establish the only Latin Fraternity at Kean College.
On February 26th, 1994, Fairleigh Dickinson University became the home of Lambda Theta Phi, Inc. Sigma Chapter. Founded by seven dedicated Latinos, Sigma Chapter has ever since been one of the most recognized chapters within the Greek community. Our main goal is to put an end to all the obstacles that keep Latinos from furthuring their education. We have done our best to do so, and will continue on por siempre.
