transmitter still in its present location after we removed the Gates BC-1H1 trying to Figure out how we are going to move this unit..
inside View of this transmitter Lots of nice Tubes to glow to Lightup and warmup the shack.
Closeup of manufacture Plate Serial # 41 Clear as day... Notice this transmiter Oscillator was upgraded with a Solid State replacement. More Photos to come when we Finally move the unit to New Jersey..
December 11th 2003 with only 5 hours notice I finally took a trip up the transmitter site to retreive the 2 transmitters. to Help with loading the truck was George the stations Engineer, My Buddy Mick(W2YNO) Tommy(W3GRZ) and Myself. I have to say This was a beast to get into the truck. the 4 of us and a come-along.. The Worst Part was when I arrived at My house No-one was there to Help unload them. I did it alone with the help of a tree and the come-along. sliding down the ramp onto 4x4's. This took me about 2 hours to unload the truck alone. and Yes I am feeling it...
in this Picture you can actually see a bullet Lodged into the transmitter
Here is another shot of 1 of the 2 Bullet holes in this transmittter through the front door of the cabinet
a shot of the transformers mounted on the bottom of the unit
we had to take the front door off to lighten up the weight of the transmitter to get it into the truck. the door weighs over 100 lbs. here you can clearly see the 2 Bullet holes.
Finally the 300G is in the truck..
here is George.. very happy we finally cleared out his transmitter building now he has all that space. for the BE 1AM solid state transmitter that Tommy is looking at in the rack.
Here Ashley took a picture of Dale. telling me to be careful getting the transmitter down the ramp at home by myself.
The 2 transmitters laying on the 4x4's on the side of the house.
a close-up of the 300G laying on its side under covered by the tarp until it can be moved.
at least its finally here.
The Backyard was swamp after the snow melted. so I will need help Moving the 2 transmitters to the barn out back another 200 feet away. to join the gates BC-1H1
Next pictures after we get a work party to move the transmitters to the barn 200+ feet away..
Either that Or I will have to build a new room Right behind the house just for them..( a New radio Shack)
