The Australian television series is an entertaining drama series with humor and warmth included in all the episodes. It has topped the charts over most watched dramas in its home country in 1997.

We follow the people in the charter Airline Company "Big Sky Aviation" in sunny Queensland, on the Australian East Coast. Every day is an adventure for the pilots in Big Sky, and no assignment is too small or too big to handle. One day they do an ambulance assignment to a rural farm way out in the Australian outback, the next day they are taken hostage by dangerous drug dealers. Their line of work shows them one of the most beautiful coastal stripes in the world. They love their freedom, excitement and the surprising aspects of their job, fully aware of the possible danger of their profession. It is the excitement they don't want to let go of, even though they could have earned four times their salary in a jumbo jet cockpit. Even though they are very different the employees have one thin in common: They love to fly.

The over class girl, Lauren Allen (Alexandra Fowler), looses her dear father. This changes things drastically in her so far protected way of life. It seems that her father's business empire is ruined. The only thing left for Lauren is the unsuccessful Airline Company Big Sky Aviation.

Lauren is not used to having to earn her living on her own. Not running an airline either. It just so happens she leaves her jet set life in New York City to Australia to try to make Big Sky profitable.
