Due Date Finder and Helpful Tips for Pregnancy

This is a table that helps you determine wether or not you may be pregnant.

This is the EDD chart. Let me explain how it works.

Find the first day of your last period on the chart by looking for the month in bold type on the left hand side. When you find it, look along the line until you find the actual date of your last period. After you find the date of your last period, look at the figure below it. This is your baby's estimated due date. Please note as your number progresses it will eventually switch to a 1. That mean that you have gone into the next month.

Below are some helpful hints during your pregnancy.

The vena cava, the major source of blood to your baby, is compressed when you lie on your back after the fourth month, from the weight of the uterus. So, lying on your side facilitates blood flow to the heart and thereby improves blood flow to the placenta so that your baby benefits too.

Lying on your back isn't necessarily good because it can cause you to get hemorrhoids. The reason that this happens is because the baby's weight on your colon causes a great strain on your blood vessels.

Make sure you eat healthy and also remember that you are eating for two. If you rarely ate breakfast before your pregnancy and you are having a hard time getting into the habit, write some little notes saying,"Have you fed your baby today" and hang them all around the kitchen to remind you. If you experience heartburn from any of the foods you are eating, try eating smaller meals at a time. The heartburn is caused by the growing baby which causes your stomach to shrink so that the baby can take up more space.

If you are getting spider veins in your legs try wearing supportive panty hose and also limit the time you are on your feet. If you must stand try placing one of your feet on a stool, switching every once in a while. If you begin swelling, try drinking plenty of water. It will help reduce the swelling. Also you can elevate your feet. If the swelling can not be put under control or it becomes even remotely painful, see your doctor because it might be the early stages of pre-eclampsia.

Taking baths during pregnancy are safe. Make sure that the water is warm, not hot. Also, please be careful getting out of the tub. It can be slippery and espically hard for a pregnant woman.

Pains in your sides during pregnancy are usually caused by the strain the enlarging uterus puts on the round ligaments. These ligaments support the uterus, and when the uterus grows your ligaments stretch. If you are concerned about this make sure to ask your practitioner, espically if the pains worsen or fetal movement changes drastically.

If you are constipated, try increasing your fiber intake. The prenatal vitamins also can cause constipation, but DO NOT stop taking these unless you are advised by your doctor.

Exercise during pregnancy is good for you, just be sure that when your body tells you you are tired stop your exercising and take a break. Don't over do it. And remember to drink plenty of water.

If you can, try to avoid caffeine during pregnancy. A soda every now and again is alright. Caffeine raises your blood pressure and can make you jittery causing you to loose that precious sleep. So remember to decrease your intake.

NOTE: These charts and helpful hints are to help you during your pregnancy. In no way am I informing you to do exactly as the information says. Always go upon what your OB/GYN or practitioner advises.
