Card Games to play

Children and family cardgames

but it is just as fun young as old, with friends!

Batalj

two players can play this game and only one deck (52 cards)
mix the cards thouroughly
you devide the cards equally, so both have as the same amount of cards.
Each shall now have 26 cards (26 cards each)
Value of the cards are ace highest after that comes kings, and after kings comes queens and after queens comes knights and then the "unclothed" cards ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two.
The Goal of the game are that one of the players should have at the end all the cards.
It is only the value of the cards that matters, colors doesn't matter. Each of the players keep the 26 cards they have with the numbers down so you cant see what cards they are. And both turn the top card up at the same time and place it infront of eachother.
The one that has the highest card wins and puts both cards at the bottom of its cards
If you would get the same cards up(you get a knight and the other player also get a knight no one wins then you continue)
The one that wins then take all the cards on the table!

Finns i sjön /"found" in lake (directly translated...)

two players ( can be more then two but personally I have only played with one other)
cards=one deck = 52 cards
mix the cards thouroughly
each player shall have 6 cards each the rest is spread on the table or on the floor( not to far apart, just so it would look like a little lake)
The goal in the game is to take as many pairs you can
you don't let the other players see your cards
both will start to see if they already have any pairs and they put them to the side
then the one that starts looks at his/hers card and if the player has a ten and want the other one to make a pair, then he/she will just ask=Do you have any ten's and if the other player has, he/she gives it to the one that asks, and then the one that started may continue until the othe rplayer says "Finnns i sjön" and then the one that started has to pick up from the "lake" a card and then it is the other players turn to ask.
The one that has most pairs win

Hej Knekt !

I personally like this very much and I am old so!
two to four players but there can be up til 4-6 players
when there are two players you need only one deck but when you have 3 til more players as many cards possible to make it the same amount for each player( that might take two decks)If it is to many cards then take away one or so of the two's
BUT when there is only two players one deck=52 cards is enough!
cards value=don't really have any value
number ten=whistle (the first one that whistles wins)
knight=Hej Knekt=Hi Knight (the first one to say it wins)
Queen=Goddag Dam=Goodday(=GoodAfternoon) Queen (the first one to say it wins)
King=salute( you can stand and do it or sit)(place your hand near your forehead ( think on how military does it! the first one wins in that round and then continue!)
Ace=the first one that places their hand ontop of the card wins in that round
You have the cards so it doesn't show what type of card it is in your hand, (then numbers not shown)
Best is if all the players ( especially if there are many players, they sit in a ring on the floor or around a round table) best to sit on the floor I think, because you have to do alot of stuff!
the one who was the dealer starts to put his/her top card in the middle of the ring, he/she must do it quickly so at no one else has time to see the card before he does, then everyone must react fast!if it is another card then the one that is mentioned above nothing happens then it is the next one who puts her/his card ontop of that card until one of the cards mentioned above comes then the one that answers the fastest wins and the one/ones that looses get all the cards that is on the table and devide amongst themselfs and puts in underneth His/hers deck of cards.
The goal=to not have any cards left,the first one that doesn't have any cards left WINS!

Svarte Petter

Players=3 or more players
Cards= a deck of cards= 52,
Mix the cards throughouly
deal out the cards it doesn't matter if one or two players gets one or two more or less cards then the other players
Goal=not to be left sitting with the knight of spades when all the cards are played
when the cards have been dealt,(the dealer?) you turn to the person sitting on your left he gets to pick a card from you ( you will not show him/her your cards)from the cards that you hold up, then he turns to the person sitting on the other side of him and that person get to choose acard from him, and so on, goes around so everyone did it and each time when someone has a pair (two tens, or two three's or something like that) they put them down and like that it gets fewer cards each time.HOWEVER THE KNIGHT OF SPADES YOU CANNOT COMBINE WITH ANOTHER KNIGHT!
You have to have The knight of spades until anohter player draws him so at last it will be the knight of spades and another knight that will be left and the one that has knight of spades that has lost!
He/she will be Svarte Petter

Svälta Räv

Players=2-4 (but at it's best with 2 players)
Cards=52 ( one deck)
Mix the cards thouroughly
Dealer gives out all the cards and if it will be one that has to many or one who has to many or to few..the last card is put to the side and not used..
The GOAL=is to starve=svälta ut the other players=play away their cards!
2 players=the deck is placed with the pictorial page(numbers facing down), both players pick the top cards( one each), turn it up and put it infront of themselfs and they continue until they get the same color(then it can be a long line), the one that has the highest card of the same color wins the opposit players cards, the winner places all the cards that is turned up places in the winners pile, with the pictorial page down,and continues. The one that has all the cards wins!
with Svälta räv with more then 2 players is the rule that you can only take all the cards that the ones that has the same color as the one with the highest card, and if it turns out that ther is no more cards in the deck in the middle then the one iwth most cards win!

Adult games..

Vändåtta

Players=2-4( can be up to eight players)
Cards=for 2-4 players just one deck=52 cards needed 5-8 players two decks needed
Mix the cards thourghouly
The dealer, deals each player 7 cards, the rest of the cards will be placed on the table with the pictorial page down and that is the talon, the top card of the talon is then placed beside the talon with the pictorial page up!(to the left of the talon)
Value of the cards=as usually, the ace is highest, the two's lowest, BUT
ACE=when you put out an ace the other players MUST pick up one card from the Talon and you then you place another card of your choice ontop of your ace and then it is the other player turn!
Eights=an 8 you can put on any card you wish and you can change to the color that suits your better Spades,Hearts, or the other two..
THE GOAL=be the first to get ridd of your own cards!
This is how you play= the dealer starts by either putting a card that is the same color as the laid out card beside the talon is ( ontop of the card that is on the talons left side) or the same number or clothed card (then you automatically change color!)then it is the next person turn,(how ever you may if you can lay more then one card at the time IF it is the same number ( like if you have two three's and there is a three on the pile on the table then you can change to the desired color!) IF you can't lay any card ( that is if you don't have a card in that color, and don't have that number or cloth card, or an 8 then you have to pick up a card from the talon and if you still cant you take another, and another but 3 cards is enough!
IF you then still cant play a card then it is the other player turn
When the talon is no more you simple take the pile that has formed to the left of where the talon was mix it( leaving the top card stillon the table) and put it next to the top card and there you have your talon!

Skitgubbe!

2 players
52 cards needed,(one deck)
Mix the cards thouroughly
each player shall have three cards with the pictorial page down(so you don't see what cards it is)on the table infront of each player. and then three more cards over those cards with the pictorial page up!
then each player shall have three cards on their hand!
then you place a card with the pictorial page up in the middle, and then the rest is the talon that is beside that card!
IMPORTANT you can't finish with a Ace, ten or a two
TEN= with a ten that you place on the cards next to the talon, you throw that pile to the side and lay another card of yours beside the talon!
TWO= if you place that on any card when it is your turn you can place any card you want after that
Ace=makes the other person pick up a card
you shall always have three cards on your hand as long as the talon supplies you with cards! you can place all the cards you have that is for example queens, twoo's and nine's on the table on your side with the picotiral page up, you can place all those carsd you have there so eventually you have four on each, you can help the other player and if you get the cards he/she have to place them there! it will be much appreciated! when you have no more cards on hand then it is turn to use the cards on the table! if you have four of each then you place it on the pile and throw the pikle out then you lay another card! the first that has no cards left wins!but if the last card that you have is an Ace, ten, or two then you have to pick up the cards!
you must always lay a number higher then card on the pile before, unless you have a two, ten or an ace, if you can't you can pick up a card from the talon and place on the pile if it is lower then you have to pick the whole pile up and have that in your hand.

Another game

to tell you the truth I don't remember much about this game but that it was fun!
2 players
2 decks needed
Mix thouroughly and each deck separated
with one of the decks you give each players 6 cards each and the rest is the talon
with the other deck you devide it so it is 26 card in each pile you place one deck on the either side of the talon, with the pictorial page up!
infront of the talon there will be four piles at the end, you will put aces first and build on them up.
You can take from your hand, from talon, from your pile beside the talon, and from the four cards that you might have laid out on the table beside the pile(only the free cards)

Bluffstopp

Players=at least 3 but not above 6 players
Cards=52, (one deck)
The dealer gives each person one card until each person has 6 cards each, the rest of the cards is placed in the middle of the table and is the talon, and from the talon you shall be able to pick a card when you have to.
THE GOAL=to be the fastest to get ridd of your own cards
Difference between Bluffstopp and the game called Stopp is that in Bluffstopp you don't show the cards you put down on the table so can bluff your way to a win,
If you start you play the card you want and place it with the pictorial page down so no one can see what card it is and say what card it is( you can say another card then it is but then you risk that the other player will take up the card and show everyone and that mean that you have you pick up three cards in the talon, if it is the right card that you said the player that choose to look at it have to pick up three cards
when you start you lay your card with the pictorial card down so no one sees it and say the what it is for card and every other player has to put a card in the same color and it must be higher then the last one
The last one that puts a higher card can "turn " even if it is in this case put the cards to the side and start over again. And if you don't want to bluff your way and don't have a higher card you can say stop and then it is the other turn. When the talon has vanished, the bluffpunishment then is this: if you look at the card and the othe rplayer has bluffed then you have to give him three of your cards and if he hasn't bluffed then he give you three of his cards

Bygg-Kasino

Players=2-3
Cards=52 ( one deck)
Every player shall be dealt 4 cards and then put for more cards on the table with the pictorial page up
The one that starts looks at the cards she/he has in his/hers hand and see what card she/he has to build on the cards already laid out on the table so the sum will be that of another card that he/she has but the opposit player when it is that person turn can take it for her/himself..
And the rest of the card make the talon and the talon is put beside the cards lain out on the table
As I said both players can build on the already laid out cards, or ( if a player have a ten and on the table is a ten then when it is that players turn (if it isn't already gone or isn't build on) can take it,
EXAMPLE= on of the players has two knights and on the table there is a ten and an Ace ( Ace here can be worth 14 or 1) In this case that person decides it is worth a 1 then ten plus one makes eleven and you take those cards with one of your knights
THIS IS THE GOAL OF THE GAME=
Most cards(27 or more cards)=gives 3 points
Most Spades(7 or more)=1 point
Storan=2 points
Lillan=1 point
Äss/Ace=1 point
Tabbe=2 point
Sistan=1point
when the last of the talon is used up(dealtout ) the dealer says Båt=boat(or nothing at all...)
Tabbe=if you can take all the cards that is laid out on the table in that round then it is called Tabbe
Sistan=mean that you have taken the very last cards that can be taken.
