The Island's Contests

This is a list of all the contests happening on the Island. They are worth mega-points if you win, so I would suggest you at least enter!

The Nameday Contest

Vote on a name for this autumn! 2 points per name (5 names or less), and 30 points if you win! Please make these names Redwall related. I don't want any "Autumn of the 737 Jets" or "Autumn of the Irritating TRL Episodes" or anything like that. Also, two words only. No "Autumn of the Blazing Red Maple Leaves" or stuff like that.

The Short Story Contest

Write a short story (200 words or less) and send it to King Dathan. Sound easy? Here's the catch! Your story has to be about something that happened to you as a dibbun! Fun fun fun! Sorry about the topic thing... it's just easier for us to choose a winner if they're all about the same thing. The stories will be judged on originality, correctness (relating to places and time periods), and general writing quality. The winner gets 30 points, and for entering at all you get ten points. Have fun!

The Essay Contest

The rules are the same as for the short story contest except for two key things. The first is that you must write about what it means to be a true warrior. The second is that this essay does not have to be from your character's point of view. Write it like you think it IRL. Point values are the same as above. Send these to Queen Amaryllis and please enter "Essay" as the subject.

The Poetry Contest

Yes, it's back! Now that we've finally stopped getting hate mail because we didn't choose "The Phantom Rose" (which, we swear, almost won!), we are re-opening this contest. Please, please, we beg of you, don't make them too long! That means twenty lines or less, and you have a limit of three entries **cough**Starfire**cough**. Send all entries to Queen Amaryllis. By the way, no offense to anybeast in particular, but the Queen is really a good poet and judges poems for herself, not based on praise or awards that your poem has gotten in other places. So telling us that you won the Nobel Prize for Poetry for the poem you send or something like that doesn't mean you'll win.
