Chapter 9: “the truth comes out”
The three were on their way walking towards the condo. Kathy unlocked the door as AJ was holding lexana..she was asleep. “where u want me to put her?” AJ asked. “oh right over there in my bed is fine or u can put her in her bed,” kathy said. AJ made his way into kathy’s room and he laid Lexana down in her own bed, and he walked back out in the living room where kathy was. “are u thirsty?” kathy asked. “nah im cool,” AJ responded. the two sat in the couch together watching TV. “hey kathy...”AJ started. “ive been thinking, and i think i put the pieces of the puzzle together but i need the truth and not my assumption,” AJ finished. “ok well what’s ur assumption?” Kathy asked. “i think Lexana is my daughter,” he mumbled. “y is that?” Kathy asked. “i mean think about it...u and me made love about 2 years ago, she was born 9months after we did it, and she lookz totally like me!” he exclaimed. “well i didn’t want to tell u, but i was going to later on tonight...i didn’t want it to ruin ur career, and build up a bad image upon u, but lexana alexia mclean chanthavong is indeed ur daughter,” kathy managed to utter out in a whisper. “u didnt tell me? i wasnt here for her for 2 years? i missed her birth? i don’t want to be a bad father!” he almost yelled. “go on with ur life AJ go on with ur gurlfriend, she doensn’t know who her father is, and she won’t know, now save urself and leave!” Kathy yelled in a whisper trying not to wake upp lexana. “look godamnit she’s my daughter just as much as she is urs, and the gurl has the right to know im her father, and she has to spend time with me!” he replied. “yeah but it’ll screw up ur whole career!” kathy exclaimed. “Kathy...it doesnt matter....Lexana is as much as my responsibility as urs, and i wanna take hold of that responsibility,” he explained. “i will not accept money from u nor anyone else, ive managed to take care of her for 2 years i can do it for the rest of her life!” kathy yelled. By this time, Lexia (lexana or lexie) had woken up and sat on her bed just listening, and this lil gurl knew what was going on, so she sat and listened. “kathy i wanna help she’s my DAUGHTER also!” AJ emphasized daughter. “daddy?” lexana thought to herself. She slowly made her way outside in the living room, and managed to utter out, “Daddy?” she slowly whispered. AJ and Kathy both turned around and found that their lil 1 and a half year old daughter was listening to them argue. “aww sweetie did we wake u up?” kathy asked. “mommie where’s daddy?” lexana asked, “i don’t know who daddy is and when i heard a man say she’s my daughter also, i woke up,” she mumbled in a sleepy tone. Both Kathy and AJ turned towards lexana and decided to tell the lil gurl the truth. “k baby sit down here mommy is about to tell u some really good news, but it may be a bit shocking ok baby but bare with mommy,” kathy explained to lexana. “ok mommy,” lexana said. (u hafta remember this lil gurl is very smarT..lol) “ok u know how u’ve been asking mommy who daddy was?” kathy began. “uh huh,” lexana said. “well baby ur daddy is AJ..” she finished. “daddy?” lexana turned to AJ with confusion. “but mommy u said daddy was on a trip and he wont be back for a very very long time!” she exclaimed. “yes sweetheart i know, but mommy told a lil fib ok? mommy didnt want u to get hurt by the truth just yet,” she explained as tears rolled down her face. “mommy dont cry maybe u me and daddy can be a big happy family ok?” lexana said in her sweet lil voice. “right daddy? me,u, and mommy are going to be a happy family,” she asked her dad. “of course sweetheart...anything for u sweetie,” AJ said holding his daughter in his arms. “i wuv u daddy,” lexana whispered in AJ’s ears. “i love u too sweetie,” he replied Kathy couldnt help but cry. “im sorry i have to be excused,” kathy said as she tried not to cry so hard infront of her daughter. She ran into her room and bursted out into tears, tears of happiness, tears of confusion. Kathy had no idea what was going on in her mind.

“ok daddy’s lil gurl u hafta go back to beddie bed ok?” AJ told his daughter. “but daddy y?” lexana asked her dad in puppy eyes. “because tomorrow daddy and mommy are taking u out!” he exclaimed as he tickled his daughter. “ok tonight u are going to sleep in auntie molly’s room ok?” AJ said. “ok daddy just for u!” she exclaimed while she kissed her father’s nose. He carried his daughter into molly’s room and placed her on the bed. he bent down and gave her a peck on the cheeks, “night sweetie...sweet dreamz, and if u need mommy or daddy, we’ll be in mommy’s room ok?” AJ said. “ok daddy nights, i wuv u daddy,” lexana said as she kissed her dad on his cheekz. “Aww i love u to sweetie now go to bed,” AJ said as he walked out of the rroom.
he walked across the living room to kathy’s room and slightly knocked on it. Kathy tried to hurry and wipe away her tears, but as much as she was crying, there was no way that she could hide it. He put his hands on her shoulder and tried to comfort her. “it’s ok, no need for stressing.” he said. “yeah but AJ theres just so much going on right now i dont think i cant help but to stress, i mean i didnt tell u about the baby, so u now have a gurlfriend, so our daughter wont EVER have a happy family like she said,” kathy said as she sniffled. “dang i still gotta break the story to my mom and LINDA oh lordy she’s not going to like this,” he whinned. “lemme call my mom right now and tell her,” he said as he picked up his cell phone and dialed his house number. He explained to his mom for about an hour. he finally hung up with her. “well she said that since i want the public to know that i have a daughter, she want’s u to sign a contract saying that u will tell the public that ur my wife, so it won’t give me a bad image,” he said finishing. Kathy agreed, after all she didnt want to put his career on the line. “one more thing,” he started. “what’s that?” kathy asked. “well i wanna spend every minute i have off sstage and off the road with lexie, so will u come on tour with the guys and i?” AJ asked her. “of course, but i have to attend school, so i’ll just take this semester off and go back the next semester, all because i don’t want ur career jeopardized, and i feel that i owe u a lot!” she replied. The two fell asleep together on Kathy’s bed, AJ was holding her in the position he was the night before to comfort her while she was sleeping.......
