Wild Wild West
The Night of the Infernal Machine, #6613
Agents West and Gordon (Robert Conrad, Ross Martin) are hired to protect a convention of federal judges who are meeting at a hotel in Denver. After Judge M'Guigan's billiard opponent is blown to bits by an exploding cue ball, Judge M'Guigan (Ed Begley Sr.) is warned by the agents that his life is in danger. A piece of the exploded cue ball is traced to Zeno Baroda, a expert in explosives and "infernal machines." Meanwhile, agent Gordon disguises himself as the Hotel's German pastry chef and West pays a visit to the recently parolled Baroda in his clock shop.

Interesting sidenote: back in the golden age of radio, there was an episode of The Lone Ranger with the same episode title, about a gang that used windup-clock time-bombs to blow up stagecoaches.
