Night of the Steel Assassin, #6516

"Iron Man" Torres strangles a shop owner named Gilbert as secret agent Jim West passes by. West tries to stop the murderer but bullets glance harmlessly off the man, and the agent finally drives him off with a smoke pellet. Gilbert is Torres' sixth victim, part of his revenge against seven officers he served with during the Civil War -- men he believes tricked him into pulling a guard duty which got him badly mangled in an explosion. His next target, the agents learn, is none other than President Grant, who is due to speak in a nearby town. West and Gordon must find Torres' hideout and stop him before he can claim his final victim.
