Wild Wild West

Night of the Underground Terror, #6719

It's Mardi Gras time in New Orleans and agents James West and Artemus Gordon are looking for Colonel Mosely, the ex-commandant of a Civil War prison who, for years, has been fleeing prosecution for the torture of prisoners in his care. A young girl named China contacts West and leads him to Hazard, her father, the legless leader of a group of men who say they were maimed while in Mosely's prison. Hazard resents West's intervention, seeking his own vengeance against Mosely, but he agrees to give the agent two days to arrest the vicious jailer.
West finds Mosely established as a plantation squire, but before he can make his move, both men are captured by Hazard and his lackeys and are taken to the long-deserted prison camp where Mosely will be tried for his crimes. Gordon returns to the train to find a code from West, signifying where he is being held. Gordon appears in the guise of an English prospector and he and West uncover the true circumstances of the war crimes.
Night of the Underground Terror marks the third Wild Wild West appearance for actor Nehemiah Persoff (a favorite actor also of Twilight Zone fans), appearing as the not-so-legless Major Hazard.
