I was honored to be asked to replicate the bridal gown of my friend Julie for her Christmas Day wedding. We met at the bridal salon and they allowed me to look at the actual gown, take some pics and measurements. I also brought along some fabric samples and my Pantone color guide. The dress was trimmed in a deep candle apple red so I knew I’d need to try to find as close a color match as possible. Below are the results!

The princess cut gown of matt satin (not shiny) is fully lined, floor length, with red satin banding at the top and the hem.

The back of the gown has an unexpected feature that is absolutely gorgeous. On such a small scale for the doll, my version has seven loops instead of twelve.

The back has a sweep train—a slight extension but not a full train.

Under the gown are a couple surprises—one is a half slip of taffeta with a tulle ruffle. The other is a tiny garter with a hint of red.

The tulle veil is double-layered with red trim.

Pearls and red jewel stones accent the tiara.

A bouquet of roses and pearl necklace complete the ensemble.
