Kari S. made a Halloween version of Dinner at Eight for a competition doll for her local club's "mini convention" and made the tray of creepy goodies using Halloween craft buttons and fimo. Kari said, "The mini convention was a huge success. Gossamer had to slink home with 2nd place in her Trick or Treats category. {Note from Shirley: She didn't need to "slink"! She's great! In fact, I call her "The Ghostess with the Mostess!} My husband, who is supportive but certainly not "into" Barbies himself, absolutely loves this doll and has requested her for his personal collection! (She's now preening atop my hubby's dresser.) I am very much a novice at all this but having lots of fun! (The doll was a 99 cent Goodwill find -- I just added the little "streak" reroot.) I am so glad for all of your vintage patterns, Shirley -- they are absolutely the best Barbie fashions! Thanks for making them available to the rest of us."
