This is another pattern from my Aileen's Petite Fashions collection, designed to fit Barbie and other 11-1/2" fashion dolls.

SOPHISTICATED LADY, which is APF pattern #2, is one of the first vintage reproduction patterns designed and drafted by Aileen. The vintage design this was taken from Barbie’s luxuriously regal ensemble from 1963. It features a royal floor-length coat with stand-up collar, worn over a beautiful full gown trimmed in silver. Now you can reproduce vintage coat in a deep rose velvet lined in matching taffeta. The gown featured scooped banding at the bodice and on the skirt, a very unique design element that sets this outfit apart; silver lace trim. Also included is a pattern for a lace trimmed petticoat. Aileen suggests ice blue as a color variation!

This design was originally drafted by Aileen's Petite Fashions (Mini-Fashion Boutique became sole owner of Aileen's Petite Fashions in 1999). The pattern includes a sketch and typed instructions as originally done by Aileen, with pattern pieces drawn by hand and printed on 8˝" x 11" white paper. Pattern is six pages. I've added a 6" x 9" white envelope with Aileen's photo featured on the front. Please note that while this pattern reflects the original design, it is a similar but not exact reproduction.
