Prayer for a new born baby

O Lord, you are the giver of all life,
human and divine.
You came into the world so
that we might have life in fullness.

We are grateful for the life
you have given us and for
making us bearers of life to other people.

We rejoice for the miracle of the new
life that has been born into our midst,
for choosing us as instruments of this new creation.

As you have given us the joy of being life-givers,
help us to share our love and care with this
baby who is already part of our family.
