Father, I thank you for your marvellous gift;
you have allowed me to share in your diving parenthood.
During this time of waiting
I ask you to protect and nurture these first mysterious stirrings of life.
May my child come safely into the light
of the world and to the new birth of baptism. Mother of God,
I entrust my child to your loving heart.
