Introduction I have seen this car in person only a handful of times, but it has
made the greatest impression upon me of any car I have ever seen. As
a young child, I remember going to Camel Continentals every year --
a race that is recognized in high regard among true sports car fans
-- and seeing this car in its glory day. Every year I went there, (1988-1994)
this car was dominant and it always provided for great races with the
Eagle Toyotas, Jaguars, Spices, Mazdas, Ferraris, and of course, the
Porsche 962C's. The chassis was engineered by an American, the electronics were masterminded
by a Californian company and some of the engine design was handled over
here by American Nissan technicians. I don't know how a mostly American
car could be so well put together, but they did it. News 6/17: It has been rumored on the gtplanet forums that the #83 car will make an appearance at this year's six hours of the Glen (this Sunday -- 6/22). Of course, there is always rumors about this sort of thing, but they have only come true a few times. Oh well. Also, today I discovered this video on the internet, not exactly the same car, but close. If you want to view it, make sure you have a good connection and quicktime (preferred) or windows media player. Nissan GTP-related auctions on eBay: |
