THE CREATIVE HOMEMAKER
These courses are developed solely for the training of Christians to be leaders in their sphere of influence. The Creative Homemaker program is used as an effective vehicle to train you, as a Homemaker, to integrate your faith into your vital role as a wife, mother, and home manager. As a Homemaker, you are in one of the most stategic leadership role. Yet, as you look around, there is little available to equip the Homemaker for her job.
Purpose: To train Christian women in their role as Homemakers in order to.....
Objectives:
1.......deal with the issues homemakers face and lend support and encouragement wherever needed.
2.......aid the homemaker in developing the skills necessary to strive for excellence in this career so she may glorify God.
3......instill a vision for the responsiblities and relationships to which God has called her, especially in the areas of marriage, parenting, home management, and her personal life.

*Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips, nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, that they may encourage the young womeen to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind being subject to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be dishonored.*

Creative Homemakers--Mothers of Young Children
Year 1

The thrust of this workbook will be to evaluate your home management system and institute imporvements that will make your job more effective and efficient.
Year 2
This curriculum builds on Year 1. You will continue discovering ways to improve your home management systems as well as fiding creative ways to involve your children. You will aslso have an opportunity to do some Bible study on the subject of marriage that will enrich your understanding of God's original plans and ideas for the marriage relationship. From this understanding, you will identfiy some specific projects that will add that special touch to your marriage. Two books will also be read that focus on creative ideas fo ryour children in areas like praying with your children, reading to them and managing their time.
Year 3
The curriculum for Year 3 focuses on the family; your food choices and how you can involve your entire family in meal times. You will also use hospitality for your families' benefit as well as for reaching out to others; teaching your children the concept of servanthood. You will be reading a book on disipline and will discuss how to maintain that in your family.
Creative Homemakers--Mothers of Teenagers
If you have a teenager in your home, you are keenly aware of the unique situations that often arise.
Year 1
You will begin a prayer journal for your teen to help you in your prayer life. You will make a covenant to give him or her the freedom to call you in any situation. You will aslo start working on a special project to give to your child as a legacy of their life.
Year 2
You will continue the special project and will focus on discipline and doing chores, even in these difficult years. A "driving contract" between you and your teen will be available that you can use when the time arises.
Year 3
The focus will be on dating and making a "key" covenant and support them in making a decision to remain sexually pure until marriage.
All three years are geared to help you maintain and strengthen your relationship with your spouse and your teen even during these stressful years.
Creative Homemakers--Mothers of Adult Children
As we move into the season of our life where our children are "grown up" (Does that ever happen?) and begin to leave home and make homes of their own, we begin to face a new set of circumstances.
Year 1
You will work on increasing your prayer life and deepening your relationship with your husband. You will begin a special project; a journal of your child's life to give to them as a legacy from you. This year you will read a book on your relationship with your adult children.
We are often at thsi stage seen as the "sandwiched generation," between grown children and aging parents. In YEAR 2 you will read a book on caring for your aging parents, and continue your child's journal. You will also discuss how you can grow in your time with the Lord.
Year 3
You will focus on being or becoming a grandmother. You will discuss grandparenting principles and talk about how to start a journal for your grandchildren already, but even if you are not there yet, you will have some foundational principles to help you when the time comes.
All three years are geared to help you maintain and strengthen your relationship with your husband during this transitional time.
Creative Homemakers--Single Moms
Knowing that being a single mother poses many unique challenges we have adjusted the Creative Homemakers curriculum that it may include one book that will cover many areas that should be of help to you.
A few of the topics will include:
*handling loneliness
*dealing with guilt
*communicating with your children
*finances
*other family members
*letting others help
This curriculum will give you a reading assignment for each meeting, as well as discussion questions and a project associated with the topic.
Our hope is that these assignments and the following discussions will guide you and give you practical help for that particular area of your life.
HISTORY OF CREATIVE HOMEMAKERS:
Creative Homemakers was created by Creative Leadership, Inc.(a non-profit Christian organization committed to producing materials that train people to be effective in leadership).
Creative Homemakers was started by Rozanne Frazee and Ann Ivey of Arlington, TX. They were convinced that homemakers played a very vital role in the family and society, yet very little training and support was available. In the mid-1980's, Rozanne and Ann gathered a group of ten women to start a pilot group. The success of this group ultimetely led to the development of three years of Creative Homemakers curriculum for mothers of young children. The program has since been expanded to include groups for mothers of teen and adult children, and single mothers. This curriculum is now being used in groups all over the United States and other English speaking countries. Creative Homemakers has never advertised; rather it has grown by one homemaker telling another about the program. Creative Homemakers is now being managed by the Women's Ministries of Pantego Bible Church.
