Lost in the Woods

sure we all can't handle

We were lost. Very, very lost....

It looked like I had gotten seperated from the group, then I heard a

familiar high-pitched voice, it was Mimi....her voice was blurred by by the

pounding rain and the crashing thunder but I could still make it out, I ran

towards her voice and tried my best to keep myself warm. Gabumon was hot on

my heels as I ran, "Why the hurry Matt?" he asked, I stopped for a second

and explained that I had heard Mimi's voice and that she might be in

trouble, like our first encounter with Kuwagamon. I don't think he really

understood why I wanted to help her, I didn't show much care towards her,

I'll grant you that...but I really do care about her.....if something

happened to Mimi, I'd never forgive myself....she was almost like a sister

to me.....or was it something more?....No....I cleared my mind of the

thought and ran towards the voice again. I soon discovered what I had

feared most, Mimi was stuck under a fallen tree. She was in danger and I

was the only one around to help, it looked like Palmon had been trying her

best to lift the tree but I can't expect that much from her, she was only a

digimon...

I soon ordered Gabumon to digivolve and help me try to lift the tree off of

poor Mimi, I instructed Palmon that when we got it high enough off of her

legs, to pull her out with Poison Ivy. Our short lived heroic act of the

day worked very well, and Mimi wasn't as hurt as I'd originally thought, a

few scratches and bruises, but overall okay....It was almost a miracle! She

got up and hugged me, thanking me over and over for freeing her from under

that tree, I uttered "whatever", and stood there silently for a few

moments, enjoying every moment of her warm embrace. Then I started to feel

the rain slowly hit my hair, then more rapidly, then I remembered where I

was; in the middle of a forest, late at night, with a lightning storm

raging around me. I pulled away from Mimi and told her we should take

shelter, we ran towards a barely-visible cliffside in the distance. About

an hour later, we arrived and found a small cave where we could hole up for

the night....

A little later, the digimon went off in search of some food for us to eat,

I stayed behind to look after Mimi, who was likely to be a little

traumatized after that tree fell on her.....I'm still shocked that she

wasn't hurt more! That tree should have broken her legs! It's really

amazing, I've never seen someone survive that kinda thing without more

serious wounds!...A few hours later, the digimon came back with some fruits

and assorted root and stuff, we all ate and the digimon went to sleep.....I

was worried though.....I went to the mouth of the cave and looked out over

the darkened horizon, wondering why I couldn't admit how I felt for

Mimi......I've never been too good with romance.....Sure I make it look

like I'm like Mr. Ladies man and all, but something's always prevented me

from really telling them how I feel....Now I feel something really special

about Mimi....Is it love? No....no it can't be! I can't stand Mimi, let

alone be in love with her!....Or am I?.....I screamed silently, wondering

what I should do....if I should tell her or not....then suddenly I heard

footsteps behind me, I spun around, only to see Mimi standing there, she'd

taken off her soaked hat and had let her gorgeous hair fall behind

her...she apologized for startling me and sat down next to me. She started

talking about how grateful she was and some other stuff like that, she

wouldn't shut up....just talking on and on forever, got sorta

annoying.....I tried ignoring it but I just couldn't ignore her

voice....was I in love? It had to be love, otherwise I wouldn't be able to

put up with this as long as I had! Mimi kept on talking, I couldn't standit

so I just let my emotions take over and I kissed her! I can't believe I did

it, I kissed her! I turned to her, took her in my arms and kissed her! As

soon as I realized what I was doing, I broke it off and turned away....Mimi

put her hand on my shoulder. turned me around and gave me an equally

powerful and unexpected kiss! I looked inter her beautiful brown eyes and

they told me exactly what I wanted to know; That she loved me too....we

kissed all night then finally got to sleep in each others arms....

"Matt? Matt? MATT!?".....I awoke groggily, seeing Mimi, still sleeping

peacefully next to me, I smiled and turned to look at the source of the

voice, it was Tai, he and the group were standing in front of Mimi and I, I

slowly got up and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes as I looked up at Tai

wordlessly. I woke Mimi up gently and called the Digimon. Soon we all left,

Tai and the others still taunting me about what had happened, MImi walked

along without complaint...amazing what one night can do...
