Day 1

Introduction to

Microsoft Office 2000

MOUS Class Syllabus

Microsoft Office is made up of five major applications.  These are Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.  We will work with Word and Excel during the first nine weeks.  The second nine weeks will be spent working with PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.  To learn the tools and features of each of the applications, I will go over those tools and features, which are to be learned in that hour and then assign lab assignments, which focus on those tools and features.  These assignments are found within the textbook. To find which projects are going to be worked on for a specific day, just visit: http://mobynet.com/~dberry/new1/2lesson.htm or http://www.berry.20m.com

The textbook is: TEXT: Microsoft Office 2000 Introductory Concepts and Techniques by Gary B. Shelly Thomas J. Cashman Misty E. Vermaat
ISBN: 0-7895-4635-3

The data to be used in these assignments can be found at: http://www.scsite.com/viewtitle.cfm?isbn=0-7895-4635-3

This textbook is divided into applications and projects. It starts on the basics and goes on from there, with each project using the skills learnt in the earlier projects. We will learn the more advanced tools and features of each of these applications by the end of this school term. It is important for you to read ahead and be ready for the next project, so that you will be prepared for the lesson.

The first lesson and assignment are from the “COMM” section of the textbook.

The first project will focus on Windows 98 and Office 2000.
