Introduction to
XDRIVE
A way of saving
your work on the Internet, so that you may retrieve it later, without the use
of floppy disks!
Lesson:
Logging onto the
xdrive (opening)
Creating a student
folder for you work.
Transferring files to
the xdrive (uploading)

Logging onto the
xdrive (opening)
- Open your Internet Explorer and Internet connection.
- Go to the xdrive on the internet by keying in it’s address,
which is: “http://www.xdrive.com”
- Log onto the xdrive when you see this area.
- Key in the user name of “mousclass” and proper password, which was given in class as
seen here.
- Click the “log in” button.
- Now you will see the following window open up.
- Notice on this new window that you have a “My Xdrive”
button. If you do not see the folders and files on the one side, then
click on the “My Xdrive” button to view those. Also notice that you can upload,
download or create a new folder with you name in it.
- Creating a student folder for you work.
- The first task is to create a folder with your name.
Do this by clicking once on the folder called “Xdrive” to highlight it.
Now you will see the following:
Notice that the “Upload” and “New Folder” buttons are accessible.
Now click on the “New Folder” button.
A new window will pop up like this one…
Now key in your name, as I have done here…
Now click “Create folder.”
- You should now see a window like the one below…
- Transferring files to the xdrive (uploading)
- Open you newly created folder by finding it and
clicking it once. As I did here…
- Now click on the “Upload” button.”
- A window will pop up that looks like this one…
- Click on the “browse” button and look for the files
to upload to your folder. A window should open up that looks like this…
- Once you have found the file that you want, click it
and click the “open” button. You will see a window like this one…
- Click “Upload” and the file will be uploaded to the Xdrive.
- Transferring files to your local drive (downloading)
- To download files, simply click on the file you want
and click “download” as I have done here...
