Osho Zen Four's

The fours are not my favorite people. :( I can handle, even welcome, the energy of the Wands and Cups, but I balk at wanting the Swords or Pentacles in my reading! LOL Too much like work, too much of a hint that I need to address how I am operating in my life. :)

The energy of the fours is one of manifestation and expansion - of bringing the visions of the three's into the real, physical world. The fours belong to Chesed, the Sphere of Cohesion.

Keywords for the fours: receptive, cohesive, stable and organizing.

Participation (Four of Fire/Wands)

Description (mine): The four of Fire (Wands) is one of two fours in this deck that bring to me a feeling of 'OK, This is energy!". On a black background we see a large lotus going from dark red/orange to yellow to white at the center. In the center of the card is a circle of green, then a circle of white, then a circle of purple, then a small band of yellow and a band of green, then a tiny band of orange surrounding a black and white double dorje (the Tibetan symbol for thunderbolt). At the four directions we seen an individual seated, with their hands on the table - the left hand palm up to receive, the right hand palm down to send. The top figure is green, the right hand figure blue, the bottom figure yellow and the left hand figure red.

(This is a wonderful card to use as a mandala for meditation - it literally screams directed energy. :)

Interpretation (mine):

The manner in which energy/creativity is manifested in this card is by laying down a foundation of cooperation/participation with other like minded people. Together you can accomplish/create more than you can as individuals.

Affirmation:

"I recognize all that have helped me to accomplish my goals."

Turning In (Four of Water/Cups)

description: This is the second of the two four's that bring me a sense of tremendous positive energy with this deck. We see a dark haired woman seated, wearing a red, blue and pink flowered robe over a dark blue top and blue skirt with a white pattern that allows one to see the skirt as flowing water. The look on the woman's face is one of peace - she holds her hands gently in her lap with the fingers and thumbs touching. In the background we see t he many *ghost* faces from her life.

Interpretation (mine):

Allow yourself to experience the wonders of the mind without becoming attached to them. To become attached to them is to hold them to you.

Affirmation:

"I center myself and listen to the messages of dreamtime."

Postponement (Four of Clouds/Swords)

This card is literally a picture within a picture. On the left, we see a woman in profile. She has a sad/anxious look on her face, her face and hair are portrayed in gray. Her blouse shows stripes of color that she does not notice, as her gaze is to the left of the picture, looking out of the window in the center of the card. Around the window the sky, clouds and landscape are all gray. Within the yellow frame of the picture *window* the sky is blue, the clouds are fluffy white and the landscape is lush and colorful.

Interpretation (mine):

Let go of the fear of making choices. Allow yourself to act on the opportunities that you already recognize are being presented to you.

Affirmation:

"I allow my higher self to guide me in acting on opportunities presented to me."

The Miser (Four of Rainbows/Pentacles)

This card scares the heck out of me. Perhaps it is the "There but for the Grace of God go I." feeling. We see a wall of stone, behind which stands the head and shoulders of an old woman. Bounty pours from her hands as she tries desperately to hold it to her. She is wearing a fur coat, and a hat with large green plumes coming from it. Her lips are colored red - indicating makeup. This woman has great bounty already - and status, but she also has great fears. She is looking to make sure that no one takes anything from her.

Interpretation (mine):

This card encourages us to take a good look at ourselves. What are we holding on to so desperately? Why do we need to define ourselves, find value in ourselves, by the things around us?

Affirmation:

"I recognize my true value as coming from within - and allow it to shine out into the world."
