Osho Zen Nine's

The nine's represent the sphere of Yesod* (the nineth Sephirah of the Tree of Life), the equilibrating factor of the Astral Triangle and the nineth path - that of Pure Intelligence. Yesod represents the equilibrating factor in the Astral Triangle. This is the sphere representing the Moon and the Astral Aether. It's primary symbols are the perfume adn sandals. The symbols represent the duality of Yesod - Mind and Matter. ( * From Tarot For Tomorrow by Emily Peach.)

The energy of the number nine is that of compassion and completion. This is the final stage of a cycle, and the beginning stage of the next cycle.

Exhaustion (9 of Fire/Wands)

description (mine): This is one of the "busier" of the Osho Zen cards. The majority of the card is taken up with the depiction of a "mechanical" person. There are a lot of edges and little continuity or flow. In the center of the card, where the "heart" of the mechanical person would be, we see a "window" in which appears a person who looks very tired and bedraggled. One gets the sense that this person has given up on keeping up with life.

interpretation (mine): We waste our energy in trying to create and maintain ourselves. We are encouraged to "live" life, to experience its flow, rather than sticking to the maintenance of what we know and "trust".

affirmation (mine): "In living from my heart, in being open to what life has to offer, I honor myself and those around me."

~~~~~
Laziness (9 of Water/Cups)
description (mine): Laziness teaches through the use of humor. Half of the card is a black and white checkerboard. The other half of the card shows mirrored tiles shattering. In the middle of this sits a man who has not a clue! He reclines in a chair, a drink in his hand, shaded by an umbrella, his slippered feet resting on a golden cushion. The man faces the black and white checkerboard, not recognizing that the mirrored tiles of life behind him are fracturing.
Interpretation (mine): There is no final destination in life - we are always on the journey.
Affirmation (mine): "I honor my achievements even as I look to my future lessons."
~~~~~

Sorrow (9 Of Clouds/Swords)

description (mine): We see two columns of grey, with the night sky and stars showing between them. In the forefront of the card we see a person sitting in a very dejected state - one hand in his lap, one lifted to his face - which is very lined and filled with pain.

Interpretation (mine): Transformation comes when we allow ourselves to understand our pain and work through it without blame or self pity.

Affirmation: "I accept the sorrows of my life as reflections of where I have been, and as stepping stones to where I am going."

~~~~~
Ripeness (9 of Rainbows/Pentacles)
description (mine): Against the background of a night sky, moon and stars, we see several beautiful, ripe red fruits nestled in amongst green leaves. At the bottom of the card, we see a single, perfect fruit with a single leaf attached to it.
Interpretation (mine): This is a time for sharing the abundance in your life - in whatever form it occurs. There is no need to make an effort to do so - the time is right and the vehicle for sharing will make itself known to you.
Affirmation: "It is time for me to share the knowledge and abundance that I have gathered around me."
