The Gems Oracle Cards is a 32 card divination system based on the energies attributed to specific crystals. The cards are approximately 2 3/8" by 3 5/8", on glossy cardstock. This is an excellent size card for smaller hands. The face of the cards has the same white/black/white border scheme, with the same green background in the center as the backs carry. The gem number is in white at the top of the card, followed by a representation of the gem, with the name of the gem under this figure in small white lettering (in English, Itallian, Spanish, French and German). I drew one card to see what wisdom this deck had for me. I drew card number 23 - Scapolite. The accompanying booklet reads: "Patience. Rewarded wait and efforts. Discretion. Inheritance, gratification. Doctor of the soul. Relative or elderly friend." Just so you all know - yes, this card hit home! I drew one more card, asking: "What purpose am I to use this deck for?" I drew number 10, Dumortierite. From the accompanying booklet: "Comfort. Economic security. Professional satisfaction. Marriage, love and successful unions." My thoughts as I was going through the deck were that it could be used alone, as an oracle, or in conjunction with the Tarot (my primary oracle) or other divination tools. This card seems to fall right in line with these thoughts. The accompanying 32 page booklet has instructions for using the cards in English, Italian, Spanish, German and French. There is a one page discussion of how to do readings using one card as a focus, using a three card "story" spread and a six card Hexagon Spread focusing on the past, the present and the future. I found this deck restful to work with and easy to gain insight from. The spreads could be expanded to whatever you wanted them to be, while the cards can easily be used for ritual, ceremonial or meditative purposes.
