Why Frames?

What are they? Frames are basically 2 or more web pages, put into 1 browser window. Its like taking www.yahoo.com and www.TheHTMLSource.com and putting them into a single window. Frames can be your best friend, or your worst enemy. You can use frames for reasons such as:
Navigation:
You can place a navigational menu in a separate frame so that it is on the screen at all times. This can help your viewers browse your pages and find information easier.
Navigational Frames Example
Banner Frames Example Banners:
You can display Banner ads, Warnings, or a Company logo in a separate frame while your viewers browse your site.

Using frames can also make updating your website a whole lot easier. If you have something that is on every single page of your website, for example a navigational menu, and you wanted to edit that navigational menu, well normally you would have to go to each and every page with that navigational menu to edit it. Not with frames, all you have to do is edit a single file, and it shows up on all the pages you want it to.

If you think frames are right for you, click the link below to begin the class.
