LATEST NEWS
LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN
Douglas L. DeGroot
With every new year comes a new Board for the Clubs. We work with a plethora of men and women from a variety of backgrounds and professions who make up the Board that help lead the Clubs. Please take a moment to look at the new officers of the Board as well as new members of the Board.
On behalf of the Santa Fe Boys & Girls Clubs staff, Board of Directors and many community supporters, I am extending a heartfelt wish that you and your families have a wonderful holiday season.

We are looking forward to 2003 to be a year of continuous growth in the Clubs, and strengthening our relationships to ensure our bright future.
With the implementation of a regular newsletter, development of a Club brochure, the probable publication of the Club book of young authors, and the expanded use of our video documentary, we will share the wonderful success stories of the boys and girls of our Club. We can be very proud of our past successes and even prouder of the successes yet to come.

Annual Mayor's Ball Rocks, Rolls and Raises Money To Support Santa Fe Boys & Girls Clubs
On October 12, 2002 more than six hundred people attended the Fourth Annual Mayor's Ball benefiting the Santa Fe Boys & Girls Clubs. The event was once again a huge success! A BIG Thank You! to all of our donors for making this the most successful Mayor's Ball yet.
The Master of Ceremonies was Judge and Amy Reinhold. Club members performed, singing old favorites like Lean On Me. We have already started making plans for next year's Ball, at this time the date is set for October 25, 2003 at the Sweeney Center. The Outback Steakhouse will again sponsor the event and the same interactive and exciting band, Flamingo 66, will be back to keep us out of our seats and on the dance floor!
The Mayor's Ball could not have ran as successfully as it did if it were not for the hard work and cooperation of the Santa Fe Boys & Girls Clubs staff, parents, and volunteers who helped with this event.
We would like to extend particular appreciation to Buddy Roybal, Board member and owner of Coronado Painting and Decorating of Santa Fe. Buddy has been a member of our board for six years. For the last three years he has been the Mayor's Ball Chairman. Under his leadership, the Mayor's Ball has become more successful each year. Buddy has helped to establish and maintain many of the donors of this event. The planning process for the Mayor's Ball is a yearlong endeavor, and Buddy has graciously taken on the responsibility with determination to ensure that the next year will be bigger and better than the year before, to assure that the Clubs may continue to develop and implement programs appropriate for our Community's youth. For that, we are truly grateful.
