The Mummy 2
Premise: The remains of Imhotep
and Anck-su-Numam are brought
back to London for a museum
(dumb!). This movie story takes
place 10 years later, and centers
around the 9-year-old son of
Fraser and Weisz' characters.
Why? Well, this time around the
villain isn't Imhotep, but
Anck-su-Numam (Velazquez) and
she's after the boy because she
believes he's the the key to the
reincarnation of the Egyptian
God, Isis (Note: Yes, Isis was a
female God...). (Johnson plays a
new villain, The Scorpion King,
who is half-scorpion, half-man,
and the "ruler of all evil, who is
brought forth from the Undead").
Source Note: The new details
about the central role that
Velazquez's character will be
playing in this film comes from an
article in the Venezuelan
newspaper, El Nacional.
Imhotep Note: With beloved
Anck-su-Numam taking the
central "villain" role this time
around, it's not known what
Imhotep will be doing in this film.
Perhaps Anck-su-Namum wants
to get the boy so that she can
revive him? (Which is similar to
what Imhotep was trying to do in
the first film, vice versa).
Filming: Production on this movie
is scheduled to start in in the
first week of May, 2000 in
Morocco, and then move to
London and Egypt.
