We Know, We Wish, We Think, but We Don't
By Julie S. of Montreal, Canada (Age 13)

We know too much
Yet not enough
We want to know more
But guilt makes it tough

You may think we're nuts
You may think we're obsessed
You may think we're weird
But we think you're the best

We don't all want to jump
We don't all want to scream
We don't all want to scare you
We just want to dream

We flip through the channels
You're always there
On ET, Extra, Access Hollywood
You're smiling without a care

We know it's not always fun
As we all stare
We think you may cry inside
With the feeling of despair

I feel my guilt
Rise higher each day
As I watch you and admire
Although I don't feel it's okay

I want to leave you alone
But I find it hard
You're always being harrased
And ET feels proud

I don't know why
I really can't explain
How I watch with interest
Yet feel pain

I yell at the T.V.
"Leave them alone!"
Yet I don't change the channel
I watch what is unknown

People know too much
Yet know nothing at all
I hope they learn that
Before they take a fall

I know you're a person,
I know you feel emotions
I know tabloids are fiction
And just disgusting potions

We don’t all want
To attack you or mob
I just want to ask “How are you?”
And maybe give you a hug
