- The Stan Rogers Folk Festival is the best way to begin the summer. Stanfest is held in Canso early in the summer and features folk singers and writers from all over. Music starts Friday evening and goes until Sunday night.

- Chedabucto Place is the home of Chedabucto Education Centre / Guysborough Academy and The African Canadian Heritage & Friendship Center and is located in the village of Guysborough.

- The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic is the oldest and largest Maritime Museum in Canada. And is a must see esp. for mariners.

Jost Vineyards is one of several found here in Nova Scotia. It is located along the picturesque Northumberland Strait, just off the Sunrise Trail in Nova Scotia. Jost welcomes visitors year round to its winery store and vineyards.
- The Fortress of Louisburg was one of the busiest harbors in North America and one of France's key centres of trade and military strength in the New World. Today the site is an exciting and entertaining lesson in history.
