Dynastes hercules - Hercules beetle.

Rearing Dynastes hercules is very similar to Dynastes neptunus, Dynastes
tityus, and Dynastes granti.
D. hercules along with D. neptunus are the longest species at up to 170mm.
Even a small male imago such as the one pictured
is a massive beetle weighing many grams, only the horn is especially small.
The larvae of the Hercules beetle have a herculean diet and a few L3 larvae
devour handfuls of dog food and rotten wood in a few days. The pupa on
the left is newly molted while the pupae on the right is hours from becoming
an imago.
