Double Edged Sword

      The episode begins in the schoolyard, where we see Madison walking. She heads into the school then up the stairs. Sakura is seen slowly walking up the stairs like she was in a trance. Madison catches up to her and asks if she's okay. Sakura agrees, obviously trying to hide something. Madison then smiles. "You should feel great about your card capture last night." "Yeah well . . ." Sakura frowns then recalls the night before, when Li showed up while she was after the Thunder Card. "Force know my flight, release the light!" The lightning hits the card and it falls. "You are looking at Raijuu, the Thunder Beast. Boy, you are pathetic." "Back off!" The Thunder Card then slowly starts to advance. "The Windy Card will take care of it. . . here." "Put it away. Windy can't stand up against Thunder." Li then raises his sword and attacks the beast again with his magic. "Lightning!" Madison listened then smiled. "But then you went ahead and captured the Thunder Card with your Shadow Card, and you proved to Li Showron that you do deserve to be a CardCaptor." Sakura nooded then mentioned that she wanted to be good at it, but that at the same time it was very new to her. She then remembered back to after she captured the card. Li walked up to her and closed his eyes. "Boy, it's like I said. You don't have any clue about this do you?" Kero got angry then turned to him as he turned away. "I was chosen by Clow Reed himself!" "A lot of good that did." Sakura then looks down at the ground, doubting her abilities. The flashback ends then Sakura turns to the window, while Madison frowns. "Don't you see Madison? If Li hadn't shown up last night, I could have been in a lot of trouble."
      In the classroom, Rita says hello to Sakura and Madison. Sakura just walks away, not letting Rita see her face. Rita then asks Madison what was up with Sakura's attitude, and Madison just smiled. Sakura goes to her desk and puts her backpack on the top. Suddenly, Li appears at the door, and Sakura panics. He walks in calmy and sets down his backpack on his desk. Sakura turns to him and then starts talking. "Look Li . . ." He just stares. "About last night, then you . . .for your help." He suddenly gasped, then Sakura continued. "I appreciate it, but I won't need your help last time." "It's like I said, you don't have a clue. You're no CardCaptor." "What!?" He then sat down, and she quickly removed the Key of Clow from around her neck. She then asked him if he could explain why she was chosne to open the book if being a CardCaptor wasn't her destiny. He didn't answer, then she went on to comment about his lifestyle and his robes. He quickly jumped up from his seat and commented that they were ceremonial robes, and that she should not talk about them. She said to calm down, but he simply blinked once and frowned. "Don't mess with things you don't understand Sakura."
      The radio tower was in the distance, and the moon was full and shining ever so brightly. A figure was standing in the distance watching the Clow Cards fly around. "Who is that . . ." It was Sakura, dressed in a pink hat and cape. She was staring toward the radio tower like she was looking at someone. "Who is that . . ." She then leaped off of the builidng and toward the tower.
      "Ms. Avalon!" Sakura found herself sleeping. she woke up to see Mr. Terrada's face, which caused her to jump out of her seat from being startled. The class laughed and Mr. Terrada smiled. "Welcome back." "Sorry about that . . ." "You woke up just in time Ms. Avalon. The lesson is over." Sakura sighed to herself, knowing she messed up today. The bell then ran and everyone headed out of the class. "Don't forget, test tomorrow." Mr. Terrada looked around, then over to Rita who was sitting in her desk, putting her things away. "Rita, you need to pass this one." she agreed in a nervous tone, and Sakura frowned. Madison then walked over. "Are we ready to go?" "I'm just waiting for Rita." There was then a sudden noise behind her and she spun around. Li stared at her with cold eyes before making his way out of the room. Sakura sighed to herself and Madison looked toward the door. "Li's really creeping you out isn't he?" "Yeah, I guess so." Madison then suggested that they go over to Sakura's house, and she said it was a good idea because since Rita needed to pass the test, they could all study. Afterwords, they could do some rollerblading. Madison mentioned teaching her a new trick, after studying, then Sakura suddenly found herself staring into empty space. "Sakura?" She blinked and smiled. "Sorry. I know I've been acting like a space case today, but it's nothing a 360 won't cure." "I think I would rather ride 100 miles in a car with Li Showron then attempt a 360." The two then laughed and headed out with Rita.
      Later, the three walked by a small shop. They decided to head inside and look around. Making their way over to the broaches, they began admiring them. Sakura then picked up a broach, which was the shape of a heart with two gold wings. Madison commented that it was a good broach for her. She then picked out a cross with a blue stone in the center, then they said Rita should get one too. She then picked out a broach shaped like a sword. "I never thought of you as the sword type." "That's a whole new side to you Rita." "Yeah well . . .it's pretty."
      Later, Kero was playing Sakura's video game, when she walked into the room. "Kero, we have company, so you can't come downstairs." "Yeah yeah yeah." She then left the room, and Kero suddenly began cherring because he just cleared the level. Downstairs, Sakura carried in a tray of snacks and Madison commented that Mr. Terrada freaked Rita out a little. Sakura smiled and then commented that they would help her. "Study time!" "First we eat, then we study for the spelling test." "Right, if we work together, then we'll all ace it." They then started studying, but then Sakura suggested trying to spell broach. Madison asked about putting on the ones they bought for a little inspiration, so they did just that. As Madison attemped to spell the word,Rita was just pinning hers on. Suddenly, Sakura frowned when she saw Rita leaning over, her face hidden from view. "Rita?" Suddenly, Rita lifted her face to show her eyes completly filled in by brown. The broach suddenly glowed and expanded to transform into a large sword. rita then swung the blade at Sakura, who dove to the ground, taking Madison with her. Sakura then ran off, followed by Rita, who tried to hit her with the sword. She ran to the door and fled outside, but tripped as she made her way down the walk. Madison began to follow as Rita rushed out of the house, but then Kero appeared and flew down the stairs. "I sense a Clow Card around here." He then stopped and sniffed the air. "hey! Wait a minute! I smell pudding!" "Not now Kero! Sakura's in trouble!"
      Sakura ran then turned to face Rita, who then slashed at her again with the sword. Sakura was able to dodge all but one swing, which hit her in the face. Kero flew out and over to her, then looked back at Rita's sword. He gasped then flew up as Sakura ducked from another swing. "That's the Sword Card!" "It can't be! Rita doesn't know anything about swords!" "That has got nothing to do with it! Sakura! Use the key to seal the card!" "I can't!" The sword was then swung again, and sakura went rolling. "Rita's my friend!" "Do it!" She then landed, and held up the Key of Clow, knowing she had to do something. She then began the incantation.
      "Key of Clow . . .
      Power of Magic . . .
      Power of Light . . .
      Surrender the Wand . . .
      The force ignite!
      Release!"
      The key then began emitting a yellow light, which swirled around her and then entered the sphere of energy the key was inside. It then transformed and began extending, sllowing Sakura to grasp it. She twirled it around and then stopped to reveal it to be the Sealing Wand.
      "Jump!" Small wings appeared on her feet and she leaped up into the air. Rita watched then turned as Sakura landed behind her and ran off. rita then gave chase. Kero flew over to fly beside Sakura. "You don't play nice-nice with the Sword Card scarring you in the face Sakura. Look, Rita may be your friend but . . .the Sword Card most defiantly is not!" She then leaped up to hide behind a street light. Rita leaped up and slashed at it, cutting the lgith in two. "Need I saw more?" Rita then leaped up and brought down the sword at Sakura, but she was saved by Li's sword. "Hopeless . . ." Rita fell back down toward the ground, then Li went after her. sakura then leaped down and grabbed Li's arm. "No!" "What are you doing!?" She then leaped up into the air, keeping a hold on Li. "I won't let you hurt her!" "You're no CardCaptor!" The two then landed in the bushes, where Madison ran over and asked if they were okay. "Yeah . . .no thanks to him." "Listen! I almost had her Sakura!" "I'm not going to let you hurt Rita!" The two then glared at each other, and then Kero appeared. "No one has to get hurt if you can get that sword out of Rita's hand." "Right!" "Where are you going!?" Sakura then leaped up and headed over toward the gates to her house. "I'm going to seal this card, stay out of it!" She then turned to face Rita, who was walking up the stairs toward her. Li gripped his sword and started climbing up from the bush. "She can't handle it." Kero growled then bit Li's hand, causing him to cry out in pain.
      "Illusion Card . . ." She held the card between her two fingers, and when it was in front of her face, she turned it so the image was facing away from her. She then tossed it out then began twirling her wand like a baton. "Let Rita see what she fears the most." After twirling it a little more, she brought it up with both hands and then when the card came around to be in front of her, she brought the wand down to slam the tip against the card. "Illusion! Release and dispel!" A yellow energy emitted from the card and swirled around, causing a strange figure to appear in front of Rita. She stared at it for a few moments before identifying the shape. "Mr. Terrada?" Sakura gasped, but then ran forward and hit Rita's hand, causing the sword to fall. Rita then passed out, and Sakura caught her. The sword began rising from the ground, then Sakura held up the wand. "Sword Card! Return to your power confined!" A light shaped like a rectangle appeared, causing the sword to burst into energy. It flowed into the shape, forming the card. It fell from the wand, then floated down until Sakura caught it. Kero and Madison cheered, then checked on Rita. Li commented she simply fainted, then Kero stepped in and dictacted Sakura didn't need help at all this time. Li simply smirked. "Everyone knows the Sword Card is an easy capture, but then again, you're just a stuffed animal." Kero became angry, then bit Li in the finger. Hecried out then shook his hand to try and toss Kero off. Madison then said someone was coming, so Sakura told Kero to hide. He then flew up and slammed Li in the head, causing him to fall. Julian then approached and smiled. "Hey everyone. I was supposed to meet Tori here, but that over achiever is probably still at work eh?" He then opened his eyes and looked to the four. "What happened here?" "Uhh . . .oh, nothing." "Oh." Julian then approached Li, amazed by something. "Hey, cool outfit." Li panicked, then ran off down the street.
      The next day at school, Rita was studying in the library, when Sakura approached, asking if she was okay. Rita nodded. "That so wierd yesterday, I don't know what could have caused me to faint like that. I don't suppose my broach turned up." Sakura panicked and then handed her a gift wrapped up with a bow. Rita opened it, then looked up at Sakura. "You didn't have to do this." "I felt really bad Rita. Yours seemed to disappear like that, so I thought this would cheer you up." The gift was revealed to be the heart broach that Sakura had bought. "You're such a good friend."
      "What?! That kid picks on my sister then comes by my house?" Outside, Tori is sitting up in a tree, while Julian stands by it on the ground. "He sure left in a hurry though." "Next time I see him, he's going to pay." Julian then looked up at Tori and smiled. "What's this? Defending the Squirt?" "No one hassles my little sister but me." "Well well, looks like you have a soft spot for your sister. Anyway's she's late. Are you sure this is where she said to meet?" Sakura is then seem running toward the tree, carrying with her a small bag. "Yeah, she's always late. So she's gonig to do dinner and dishes for an entire week." "Okay, so you don't have a soft spot."
      Suddenly, a gold colored piece of paper appeared and attached itself to Tori's arm. He looked over as it bursted into fire, which he quickly put out. "You wanted to see me?" Tori and Julian then look over to see Li standing on top of the fence with his arms crossed. Tori narrows his eyes as he looks over. "I do."
      Sakura then runs over, but stops and groans when she sees Li and Tori facing off. Julian waves to her and she smiles. "Hey Sakura! how's Rita doing?" Sakura then walks over and mentions that's she's doing better, then thanks him for carrying her into the house. She then hands Julian the small bag, and Li reacts. "Hey! But I'm the one who . . ." "You know, you didn't have to do this." "We were lucky you came by." Li then grumbled to himself and ran off. He leaped over the fence and took off just as Tori turned around. Sakura watches him run, and tori comments on Sakura's gift. Madison then appears and asks about help with uploading some movies onto her website. "But first there's something I've got to tell you. The video's I'm putting up . . ." She then leans in and whispers into Sakura's ear. ". . .Are of you capturing the Thunder Card last night." Sakura panicks as she hears that, then Madison backs up and holds up her video camera. "Just kidding, I needed something new for the homepage and this will be perfect!"
