The Sand Card's motives and purpose are very mysterious, in fact they are unknown. No one knows why this card was created, but is one of the Clow Cards nonetheless and it should be taken seriously. It's main power is to create quicksand, sand structures, and to shoot sand as well. It's form is unknown, but a good guess would be the arabian like human being on the card is her true form.
In Episode 41, Sand appeared, following Sakura and Li all over the school. It finally attacked while the two were practicing for the Sleeping Beauty play. Sakura summoned Fly so she and Li could escape, but they were hit and Li fell into the sand. The two then summoned Water and Freeze, which allowed Sakura to seal it. They both recieved the card, but Sakura gave it to Li to even the odds. When summoned, it possesses the same powers as before.
